And yet, she has 26 replies in 2 days.

"Duh," Rosalyn? Is that all you have to say to me? You have to have some proof for your crazy ideas. So where's your source?

While waiting for the promised "best four years of [my] life" (Various People), I found YouthNoise. http://tinyurl.com/2kbx5p

Nah, I like it better the way I said it. Sorry.

I don't see what's so hard to understand about what I said, Ampmaster. But thanks for the suggestion.

yeah, that's the general idea. BUt the majority has voted down Gay Marrige in just about every state in the union, so they have spoken till next election (state level any way)

5. By allowing gay marriage—a currently illegal act—it sends the message that anyone can mess with the government and change any law to support their own needs. This is completely out of line with what the U.S. stands for, which is “for the people, by the people.”

Aren't you completely wrong? I thought this democracy crap meant that if the majority wants something, the government must ammend whatever needs ammending to grant the majority their request (/over simplification). Isn't that the "American way"? I'm speaking completely theoretically of course.

Look, maybe there are some legitimate points against gay marriage, but you've failed to mention a single one. I'm against it for religous reasons and I know that doesn't impress anyone on this site so I don't put up a topic for the sole reason of displaying my ignorance about everything else. I mean seriously? A marriage isn't valid if you don't orgasm? WTF?

which brings up a point that people who can't take care of their kids shouldn't be breeding

When has marriage been about love? It's always been about property, dowries, wealth, social connections, AND pro-creation. Marriage has to be consummated through sex-- the act of pro-creation-- in order to be considered valid.

Always been about those things? I mean, I don't think my parent got married because of money or property - they got married because they love each other. And I know a girl from my church that fell in love with a man from Haiti (which in case you don’t know is one of the poorest countries of the world). The government wouldn’t let him leave the country, so she moved there with him. They both live in poverty, and she gave up everything she had for him. How can you say that that was about “property, dowries, wealth, and social connections”? It was about love, pure and simple. And who says that marriage has to be consummated through sex, anyway?

Um, so having like a learning disability or autism or something isn’t natural, because that’s not how most people are?

Right and did you know that a lack of pirates cause global warming? As a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster we have information that shows clearly that as the number of pirates has gone down the global temperature has dramtically increased. If we wish to save the planet from global warming we must usher in a another golden age of piracy!

So I am to assume then that you are married? You know, since you condemn fornication and sin. How old are you?

Ampmaster:

1. Marriage is for procreation. If it weren't for marriage, how would we increase our population? The legalities and the benefits are just perks for starting to procreate.

2. No. The appendage must be attached below the waist. Arms should be busy doing other things.

3. It's not a true sex-induced orgasm, which is the only one that counts.

4. Society is natural. We entered into it during evolution. It was a natural means to secure our species by protecting the population.

5. That proves nothing. Besides, our world is teetering on the brink of all out chaos. One wrong move, and we will plunge into anarchy.

Jenos:

1. What can you prove? And if marriage wasn't for pro-creation, then why does it need sex to be consummated? And America does NOT have too many babies. It needs more. We have space. Just cut down on the amount of National Parks and we'll be fine.

2. Something you are born with, appendage wise, and something that everyone else does. If it's not the norm, then it is NOT natural.

3. I don't need to. I have everything I need to know from the reformed homosexual websites.

4. Los Vegas should be purified. Divorce should be illegal. The best way to raise the child you procreate is by two adults. It should be illegal for the children.

5. Crime WILL increase. Have you looked around you lately? There's violence EVERYWHERE. There are also homosexuals everywhere, demanding rights. It's only logical that they have a relationship.

I am always right.

where is this country? I've heard of America, but never a nation called American

quote:
As if American doesn't have enough people anyway

If you listen carefully you can hear china laughing at this statement. In then end compared to most world powers our population compared to our size is incredibly small. Sides you try to tell the rednecks down south to stop breedin, you'll get a 12 gauge's worth of buckshot for your trouble and you'll likely get the same treatment else where too. It's one of those things that people want the goverment to keep their nose out of.

and honestly, do you really trust results from the census?

Is that a new polygon or something?

This whole topic is bullocks. Prove any of it. Sure, you can claim these are your opinions, but ruin America? Laughable. Let's do a quick breeze through.

1. Marriage isn't for procreation and you know it, look at the law, it's clearly stated. As if American doesn't have enough people anyway. It's time people stopped having babies for a few years and the census supports that.

2. Define natural. Some would tend to disagree.

3. Clearly you have not spoken to many homosexuals.

4. The sanctity of marriage was lost with the introduction of Los Vegas, mate. And try telling a physically abused spouse that they may not divorce their spouse, I'm sure you'll get loads of positive feedback.

5. I laughed. It's only illegal due to a technicality - an amendment a president made years ago. The last time I checked, the president isn't exactly the whole country. And stating crime will increase is simply mad.

You are, as usually is the case, not always right.

I like these calm little moments before the storm.

Isn't marriage more than just a contract? I don't know, but I always though it was about more than legal rights.

not from the eyes of the state, goverment wise it's a legal contract between to idividuals. The whole "two becoming one" and other things we associate with marrige come from religons
