That's why we're Pagan and you're not.

quote: about authors: read my board, a list of good new age books in zen and the art of mind/body maintance. anton la vey is the "satanic" author. i've seen the satanic bible in the library, when i was ten, i only read the first page.
Can't you make it easy for me and tell me here? I flipped through the SB, but it didn't interest me. Sorry bout that. I was still on edge. After I saw your comment in the Satan board, I thought, ****! quote: yes i am very ignorant *sarcasm*. "listen to the dark", oh my goth phase! i still have my goth clothes, the boots, etc. what a phase, what a phase...
Really? I guess we all have to keep memories of good times...or bad times... Christianism? That's a good one. quote: if you're interested in the moon, buy "Moon Wisdom" by Sally Morningstar.
Or Moon Magick by D.J. Conway. What's the name of where you work?

quote: Since I am Christian, I haven't studied with a new age teacher or anything like that. I've just looked up information on the Internet and I've bought books on different subjects that I'm interested in. I'm big on stones and crystals and tarot and astrology. I practice new age things to an extent that I don't feel like I'm going against my core religion. Does that make sense?
My mom is into all of this stuff as well, as is my best friend (she gave me sort of a starter kit for Wicca for my birthday a couple of years back). It's just cool to read about and study and explore. Maybe one day I'll become a full-fledged new ager just because it's awesome.
yeah, some christians do new age things, but that doesnt mean theyre pagan. at first i was like that, but then i knew paganism was a better religion for me than chirstianism. unless you've called upon gods (since its in the commandments), there's few you can do that will be considered pagan. but be careful, dont tell everyone, because some people in the christain church (and in others) think it's pagan because they dont know about it. my favorite thing about new age is that YOU can be very powerful, and are not looked down upon as being inferior (well in some cases). P.S. i have a ton of crystals and stones, and i do plenty of stuff involving the moon. if you're interested in the moon, buy "Moon Wisdom" by Sally Morningstar. It's great for people who want to have a "starter kit" for the moon, or just a really good book that tells you the basic things without youhvaing to read it for 3 months. it costs $12.95. And Katrina Rafael does books on crystals too. Hey, I work in a new age book store/coven/group/yoga center. It's a big place. -Arianhorn

quote: On a lighter note, what authors have you bought? I'd share my list with you, but you probably don't want any "satanic" authors. LaVey is not on my list, thanks.
I get a lot of crap from Xians about being a Satanist, but I didn't expect it from a newager... okay, perhaps I did. Most are ignorant anyway. Listen to your crystals, honey, and I'll listen to the dark.

quote: What the f*ck! I am not a Satanist! Where the hell did you get that idea? Tell me please! I respect Satanism as a religon, but I am a Pagan, not a Satanist. This is twice you've accused me wrongly. And yes, I am goth, what's it to ya? I've been depressed my whole life, what's it to ya? And I might be a Dark Pagan, but I'm not Satanic, what's it to ya? And what the hell is your problem?
probably confused you with EarthGodess, and since you were warning me so much i thought you were. i didnt accuse you twice, i thought of you a satanist in this board first, and then i said the same thing in the satan board. Goth= a phase i went through. depressed=happens to me alot. i have no problem, i am human.

WorthWaitingFor I know. there's a steryotype that all new agers are pagans, but it really depends on the person. yeah, astrology is sorta a new age thing (i do a lot of stuff involving the moon, for example). One of my new age teachers (i wont call them gurus, because thats for yoga) is a reiki master. she's so wise. i learn a lot from her. in fact, she sorta got me into the new age thing in the first place! Cheers! -Arianhorn

that comes from a "satanist" who's probably just a depressed "goth".

Yay! I love this thread. I've gotten into some new age things before. I like learning about tarot and practicing it. I've read a lot about Wicca and have studied it before. I've gotten into a lot of astrology (is that sorta a new age thing?).
Yet, I'm Christian. So I like being a little different from the regular Christians.
My mom is a massage therapist and knows all about the chakras. She's also a reiki practitioner!!! And a very good one, at that.
This is a coolness thread and you're a cool person, Celtic. Cheers!

quote: a lot of new age religions are old ways.
That's the first intelligent thing I've heard you say. quote: no, for me it's like i keep learning stuff all the time.
Good. But while you're learning, don't act as if you know everything on that topic. You do have a very vain air to your posts, I hope you know that... quote: as in what author???
Aye quote: oh please dont believe i'm one of those "I love you all!" new agers. thats just dumb.
What kind of newager are you? Not the "harm none" wiccapeacemaker? Not the crystal hugging hippie? Not the "solemn" knowitall? What? Was it you I quizzed a while back on Paganism? Because I thought they were a "knowitall", or was it someone else? That was kinda fun... wanna throw questions at each other? Not too hard... spiritgirlquote: yes she's a christian if you were wondering
No, I wasn't. It's always nice to meet a Xian who can admit he or she is wrong.
