Or apparently so think those who responded to an ONDCP survey regarding perceived risk of drug use. Percentage Saying Drugs Are "Very Dangerous": How do you all feel about this widely held fallacy and its possible results on the youth, who seem to be misled by notions such as that heroin is safer than marijuana due in no small part to the outrageously absurd anti-cannabis ads ?

quote: For anyone to believe that heroin is safe as compared to cannabis is ludicrous and simulatenously frightening.
i agree...i like how the least dangerous(or as thought by the people in the survey) drugs are methanphedamines...i mean come on...we need propper drug education but it seems everywhere i look its always biased...theres always people saying theres no risk and theres always people trying to scare you into believing it will all kill you. i dont know blah blah im tired "this isnt a war on drugs, its a war on personal freedom" -bill hicks (i hope i quoted that correctly)

Cannabis has increased in potency vs. mass since the 1960s, decreasing the amount smoked which constitutes one dose. Whereas one might need to some an almost cigar sized joint to one's self in the 60s, one may smoke a pipe bowl 4 or 5 times smaller for the same effects. This reduces the amount of smoke inhalation nessecary and alleviates this only real risk of marijuana. For anyone to believe that heroin is safe as compared to cannabis is ludicrous and simulatenously frightening.

i will say this...marijuana has become more dangerous than it was in the 60's, it is more potent and can lead to more problems in life...but i dont know how much of it needs to be used in order for those "side-effects" to take place. i do know this though, it is far less dangerous than most other drugs. -mike
