Celtic, I get your point - but it is a weak one. Drugs are made for two reasons, to help people who are sick, and to make money so they can make more drugs to help sick people. If people weren't sick we wouldn't need any drugs and if there was no money we could never develope new drugs.

Yes, they need money. No one can live without money. But these are medicines, the concern of these people shouldn't be as much money, it should be more of health (the reason for the existance of medicine anyways).

Cletic, medicine companies need to make a profit also, or do you believe they should not be entitled to make a profit - unlike everyother buisness in our country? They have high prices because it is expensive to create new drugs, not because they like to see old people struggle.

The FDA is not about money in anyway. They share none fo the profits of the medicines the approve and to suggest otherwise is absurd.

It's all obvious, really. Money. Have you any idea the cost of these medications? My father's mother had pills, a bunch of them at that, and the cheapest one was $13 each. This medicine industry is no longer about medicine and treating people, it's about business. Money.

I might agree with you, marine. Considering how many drugs are in cigarettes and other tobacco products, yet the FDA doesn't stomp all over them.

The FDA is completley out of whack. It needs t be revamped.

Lets assume there are 1,000 people working for the F.D.A. and lets assume 100 of those people have a say on endorsing a drug (These numbers are extremely liberal) There is no way those people, working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, could ever keep up with every new drug that is invented. It is simply impossible.

There are different levels of conservatism, as well as liberalism, Celtique. Although I firmly disapprove of anything else than my "God-given"/natural stuff up there, why would the FDA be more interested in this rather than medication? Have they checked into long term issues?
