So did you know that current predictions say that at age 60 our generation is going to need 5 million dollars in the bank to make it through our retirement years without working.

Even with a down economy, the mutual funds grow in value, regardless of what the stock price is that day, which, if you bought 10 shares of Lucent's competitor, you could lose it ALL in one day.

How could I loose it in one day??? I did my research I knew what was going to happen. It was a pretty safe bet.

You have no control over your mutual fund, all you can do is sell it, or put more money into it. Investors do all the work for you. Thats one of the reasons I dont like mutual funds.

Bauhaus, you opened a savings account with a bank.

Mistake No. 1.

You are getting a crappy return at 3%. That's mistake No. 2.

Talk about doing my research.

Even with a down economy, the mutual funds grow in value, regardless of what the stock price is that day, which, if you bought 10 shares of Lucent's competitor, you could lose it ALL in one day.

Mutual funds aren't like that.

But okay, sure, I'll go research some more. I guess that's why Citigroup and Primerica are listed as the richest companies in the world.

Your banks are giving you 3% - that's the best I've seen it.

Mutual funds grow 10 to 12 percent. Hmm. Do the math.

Joey you dont know much about the market do you??? Why would you even want to buy starbucks? You wouldnt get much return....

I bought nortel networks for 1.28 a share.... It went up to 4.75 within 3 months.

I bought them because they were Lucents competitor and lucent was going to go belly up.

Do your research guy...

I recently opened a savings account with ING bank, (the orange one) I got $25 for opening, 3% intrest, no fees and no min balance. You should also look into opening an IRA.

Would you like a medal?
