I recently completed my first internship and was curious to see what kind of internships people around here have/are planning on taking part in.
As for me, I interned at my Congresswoman's District Office. I answered phones, did some case work, updated databases...
What internships are you doing? What are your tasks/goals? Do you like it?

Eh, that may be true, but I disagree to some extent. Everything that government office does is for the elected official's future campaign. Just because it isn't technically considered "campaigning" doesn't change anything. If I want to change my times in the office around, I can go to office hours...I'm strongly considering it. They never seem to have anything for me to do...unless it's entering survey cards!

I directed all calls regarding campaign activities to the campaign office...which is a separate thing...the government office is not allowed (nor is it ethical) to work on campaign things.

Ooh! I'm at my Congressman's district office too! A lot of the work I end up doing is administrative, but I do get to work on cases sometimes and I CAN answer the phones if I want to (although they're usually calling looking for someone and I have to transfer the call anyway). Once his campaign office opens, I will get to do some work there as well. I like it most days...
