One thing that I am really sick and tired of are all of these companies stating "we support our troops". Yeah. Right. Sooooooo thats why when I go and tell them "If you support the troops than you give Military Discounts right?" I have only encountered a few and i mean few businesses big or small that actually live up to that statement. Being a service member, it just seems like its the new cliche from sep 11 2001-present day and counting. Granted i understand. business is business. god forbid you say "NO! I dont support the troops!" You would probably be flogged to death. All i have to say is if that you SAY you support the troops, show a little bit more gratitude and respect. Im not asking to come into any store and take what i want and get it for free, but come on. were out there serving this country (which i think everyone needs to do in order to become mature) and yet we get next to nothing in return from the very people in which we protect. just my two cents

if they advertise it, it is not real support. Real charity is done in the shadows.

kudos costar. theres tons of countries where we shouldnt be and ive been to most of them. iraq was mainly a big mistake, but bush had to do what anyone who gave 2 sh*ts about the country should do. what would Gore have done in this situation. we'd all be speaking arabic right about now. saddam needed to be put out of power, but i do think we should have pulled out once we grabbed his sorry ***. there is some strategic blah blah blah something happening, were just supposed to know "enough" to keep supporting our troops. believe me, ive seen and done things that you only read about in books and see on the big screen. just dont give up faith in the military oh and for being only 16 you seem to know alot about politics and what not. im quite shocked

I forget the cite for this quote but it was a former UN weapons inspector. I'll paraphrase here "Saying I support the troops isn't being a patriot, I can train a money to wear a yellow ribbon or wave the flag, to really be a patriot, read the constituion" Everyone just wants to feel good about themselves and put the little yellow magnet ribbons on their cars. I suppor t our troops but I think that we shouldn't have sent them there in the first place. If you really support troops you wouldn't want them sent to countries where they shouldn't be -------- FreeCulture.org an international student movement for Free Speech, Free Software, and Free Culture

i do agree with you tastemykiss. but thats the people that work in the store that support it. not the store itself. i know most everyone in america supports our troops 100%. sure u have those total lefties that wish the govt. and military were non-existant, but deep down everyone knows that they need us there to protect them. im just asking the actually companies, not the people, to support the troops in the one way that they can. i cant get any moral support from a companie name or logo.
