Joey is reffering to qoutes by Jefferson that showed a belief that revolution was healthy to happen every 25 years or so. Madison, Paine an I all beleive that revolution is ok when tyranny is present. But your idea of revolution is different than theirs.

Jefferson famously wrote " When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."
He felt that revolution was needed if the laws entitled by god were being broken. What people don't understand is that we can have revolutionary change in our government without overthrowing it. Segregation ending was a revolutionary change, and it took place with out overthrowing the government. Jefferson supported revolution periodicaly, not overthrowing the government. Joey doesn't understand the difference. TJ only suported "dissolving political bands" when the laws of god were being broken. They were governed by England, where the only way to change governmental control was to have the king die. We change power every few elections. If Joey feels the laws of god are being broken than I will redirect my argument, but untill then he needs to read Jeffersons memoirs.
