They're not made in sweatshops, their production doesn't harm the environment in any way, and they look good. Go blackspot sneakers go! Kick Nike in the shins, like David clubbing Goliath to death slowly but surely with a toothpick! They cost $57.50 as well, which isn't that expensive I reckon! I'm going to get me some. http://adbusters.org/metas/corpo/blackspotsneaker/home.html-Pen

I love new balance, I bought a pair of their trail runners (don't know exact number off the top of my head) and have had them for two years with minimal falling apart

I like New Balance running shoes...they have the least amount of goofy padding in them. This keeps my foot at a normal angle and keeps my feet happy. I have two pairs...blue and pink. Nikes profit margin last year was $15 billion. That's what's left when the cost of production is taken away.
Phil Knight, Nikes founder and former CEO for anyone that doesn't know, has amassed a fortune of $6.2 billion.
Kinda makes you wonder how much it actually costs to produce a pair of Nike shoes, doesn't it?

I prefer New Balance, but I am wearing adidas and Nike. I have to buy some running sneakers, but to tell you the truth, I feel bad for those people making my shoes but its a job for them, without nike, they would be poorer (is that a word?) than they are now.

Celtic, hemp is the same family as weed, but it dosn't have the same effect. It is still banned in its unprocessed form though, I believe. It is possible for charity items to become fashionable though. What about those arm bands? Of course, now most people buy them off the internet like ebay, so the charities get nothing and someone makes a packet out of bands they can buy for nothing, but oh well.

Yes, I would. The thing is this. You're buying a shoe you won't wear. For a good cause, allright, good. But it's really unrealistic to think Blackspot sneakers will become more famous than Nike; let's face it, society doesn't care if you're wearing something for a good cause, they care more if you're wearing a brand name.

Isn't hemp from the marijuana plant or something? At least that's what my friend told me, but he's not the wisest of people...

I don't ever wear boots. I wear tennis shoes and sandles (not Birkenstocks). I like to wear my leather sheos when I wear long pants. One thing is for sure, non of my shoes are made of hemp like blackspots are.

Meh, I'm not into platform heels. I tend to tip over.

Goth boutiques. But they're sold with platforms that are usually at least 5 inches high.
