How would stock brokers not support America's prosperity?

Wait, the same guy who LOVES America and especially the present administration is for those people who would not support America and it's prosperity? Hypocrisy, anyone?
You are right, I mean why should the man who sold cocaine to teenagers have to sit in the same jail cell as a bad man who found out a little information before selling his stock. Ruining kids lives and murdering is IDENTICAL to trying to save a few percent on a stock sale.

White collar crimes are crimes. i don't think they should get off becasue they have a lot of money. I mean...what does smoking weed do? Does it hurt anybody? There are people dying from aids, isn't that a bigger problem? But that doesn't stop thousands of people going to jail for drug charges. The cheap rich people who are cheating the gov't out of money should rot in jail like the people who wanted to just get high and the murders.
Side Note: I don't believe people should spend a portion of there lives in jail for smoking weed.
*Opinions are like @$$holes...everybody's got one*
People have the uncontrollable tendencies to listening to down-falls of others not concerning themselves with behemoth problems like AIDS...AIDS that's unattractive WE say.

The Martha Stewart mediafest was ridiculous. That's not true white collar crime at all, that was a big deal just because she was a celebrity and a female. Should we have been paying attention to her or real white collar criminals who cheat thousands of people out of their money and make millions and millions. Corporate business criminals like that get filthy, ridiculously, rich while 95% of their employees are living in run down shacks with no health insurance. It's so wrong. No one needs to be a millionaire. Even before you hit the millionaire mark, you could have anything you wanted in life.

I agree... the news overbuffs everything to increase ratings
Corporate fraud does need to be stopped and punishments should be heavier, but more attention should be paid to people who are dying, not people who are losing their money.
First off let me say Martha Stewart should not go to jail. Ok now yes we should defintely pay attention to white collar crime. Anytime there is a crime that a person of a different race commits the media jumps all over that. Just because you are rich and grew up in a good home doesn't mean you can't commit crimes. Yeah we do have other problems in this world, but we have to focus on crimes not just the people who commit them. Just because they are old white men doesn't mean they should get special privileges. They have to take the fall just like people who rob stores, rap, and murder.

quote: Is it really a big problem? Should we be spending so much time on Enron and Martha Stewart??? I can't help but think that we have bigger problems in the world... like the people who won't have something to eat tonight, or the several thousand who die because of AIDS each day.
I guess the large majority of people at Enron who lost a large amount of their retirement investments doesn't count as important, nor the whole entire American public who suffered economically from Enron. White Collar crime should be a lot heavier in punishment and I seriously hope you aren't proposing that we shouldn't prosecute simply due to money.

They can't just leave it alone, because you can't just let people get away with things. Then they will do it again. But I agree that they are more important issues out there.
Enron and Martha Stewart need to be taken care of, but I agree that the other issues around the world are MUCH important. Another issue that is going on inside the US is the rising costs of health insurance... many middle-class families are having problems with it nowadays and it NEEDS to be taken care of
perhaps our tax money can be used for more important things than flogging martha stewart... despite how much i'd like to see that actually happen...
