The reporters ARE the news source. Them and the program directors. Anchors do little but read a teleprompter.

FOX NEWs isnot conservative. Its not centrist. I see no difference in the way they report their regular news than that of CNN. Most of their pundit shows are conservative. I will give you that.

It depends on what channel and the like you speak of.

Show one legitimate major news program that is conservative biased without saying it. The O'Reilly Factor is an opinion show, and Brit Hume (who you have both mentioned down below) is a conservative pundit. Do you want them to wear shirts that say "Conservative"? quote: It doesn't matter if you admit you're biased or not, you're still biased.
Don't try to disregard the reprocusions of what announcing bias and not announcing it can have. quote: I'd much rather have a slight, "hidden" liberal bias than a blatant "yes we're conservative" bias.
Of course you would, but that does not mean that the public (who does not know about the hidden liberal bias) would. What's wrong with announcing bias, and having "non biased" shows watched by independent watch dog groups of both conservative and liberal nature? quote: At least with the first you don't have to listen to long rants about evil godless liberals.
When was the last time you heard one of these done by an objective on mainstream media? quote: See if you can't point out the bias on this site. Hint: it's all conservative. But not announced.
Let's see; Bill O'Reilly has a conservative opinion show. John Gibson is a conservative pundit with a conservative book (which I own) who calls himself a conservative, Oliver North is an American war hero and member of the Reagan Administration...

Conservatives announce their bias...yeah, right. Didn't your mommy ever tell you bias is bad? It doesn't matter if you admit you're biased or not, you're still biased. Of course they're conservative. When was the last time a liberal actually investigated the mainstream media? quote: So I suppose a conservative media bias doesn't count?
Conservatives announce their bias, whereas, more often then not (see the nightly news) liberals disguise their bias in the news and movies.

Yes. For example, I myself see a mild-strong conservative bias, but I know that since I'm liberal I'm more likely to notice conservative bias. Not that liberal bias always escapes me...Air America drives me nuts.

If you show an article to a conservative and to a liberal, it's very likely that the conservative will point out liberal bias while ignoring the conservative opinions expressed, while liberals will do the exact opposite. A centrist opinion will appear conservative to liberals, while that same opinion will appear liberal to conservatives.
Everybody has a bias; if you don't notice a bias in an extensive source, that's because the source shares the same bias as you.
Exactly. This is what I have thought for a long time but could not say it as elgantly as you have.
Indecision may or may not be my problem
