Yes, it's Andrew Lloyd Webber. That's why I wanted to see it; I saw Cats last summer and really enjoyed it.

The girl, Christine, is in the opera and the phantom taught her to sing and he becomes obsessed with her and wants no one else to have her. The new owners of the opera house don't do things as the phantom would like and he kinda goes crazy. And of course there's the guy Christine really loves and of course the phantom wants to kill him (and possibly her) out of hate. It's basically like a huge love triangle.

Can any of you tell me the story line? I only know it vaguely. Isn't it an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical?

I liked the new movie alright but...not that much. I mean it was okay and everything but I simply didn't really like the story.

Maybe that's because I find it hard to follow a story through song.

I didn't read the book. I saw the original movie, the one from 1935 (it was either 1935 or 1922, don't recall). That was good.
