Hello, it is me Jookly. I have a question that I would like a lot of input on.

Could you please tell me in your own words. What is wrong with murder? (aside from it being against the law).

I am trying to get a wide variety of oppinions for a class I am in and any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jookly

Because murder takes away an existing life form, and in most instances there is not only little to no justification but also creates misery for that person (short term, undoubtedly) and their family, friends and so on. Upsets aren't something I like, so that's mainly why I guess. But that's really just a continuation of Jenos' comment, right? *sigh*

So are you here to stay, jookly? It's been a while.

When you murder someone it usually makes a mess. Blood is hard to get out.

Murder is wrong because you are denying someone the right to continue with their lives. We could get into abortion, but lets not.

quote:
I always kind of found interesting the Vash/Rem vs Knives approach to murder. Basically nobody has the right to end the life of another. Why? Because it is another living being, just like you. Of course, this would apply to all living things, not just humans. Which means you should have respect for all living things. I do not necessarily agree with this, but it is something that I always thought was an interesting concept.

I agree it is a very interesting concept and is something I thought about trying to answer my question but as you pointed out it would apply to all living things and clearly there are some lives that we are comfortable ending. (bugs, plants, etc.)

If ending a life is the real travisty inherint in murder then any destruction of life should carry the same weigt. To me this means there must be something about human vs human murder that makes it worse than simply the ending of a life. Consent (and the ability to give consent) clearly has something to do with it but many people argue that assisted suicide and similar practices are immoral in the same way murder is so consent wouldn't satisfy me fully either.

Could it have something to do with the unnecessary loss of life?

for one what do u mean my murder
Well obviously I didn't make the word murder. It pretty much means one human killing another human but the dictionary says it is an "unlawful killing" this is partially why I want to know what is wrong with murder besides the fact that it is illegal.
