I am curious what others think about when they hear the phrase, "Critical Thinking". How would one go about educating youth about critical thinking and the skills needed to make real decisions based on your own experiences. Rather than except things because others tell us to except them, how can we fully develop our critical thinking capacity? Thanks for reading and considering... Kevina

I think you are right.. Yet why do we except things around us so readily? I remember when I was fully introduced to the concept of critical thinking last year in school and my whole world changed. It was like I was going through the motions of living rather than really making the tough decisions that only we can make with our lives. I am not saying that we all need to create anarchy just to think critically, but we should ask tough questions. How can anyone begin to teach this skill?

I think "critical thinking" means having rational ideas, really thinking of real stuff not idealism. Its about being practical. Ciritical thinking also means that you would not lose your capacity to think straight under stressful situations.
