But what about just for someone else? Say someone you loved very dearly that could do just as much or more good in the world that you could were to die if you didn't die in their place? Isn't that something worth dying for? Wouldn't you rather die for them to live than live and see them die?

What is worth dying for?

Nothing.

I would not die for anything, not even if my death would be for the greater good. My talents can be put to much better use while I still breath, not while I'm entombed in a coffin.

Call me selfish, but I don't believe in dying for a cause. There's nothing worse than a life thrown away just because someone wants to be a martyr.

What is it that has happened in time that has made what a person would die for so much more rare?

There's so much more to live for now.

Also, what would you die for?

If my death meant that others - especially those I care about or those in great number - would live. I don't necessarily include war-type situations for myself. Too often, soldiers die for an unknown reason as opposed to truly dying for our freedom.

The above kinda covers the rest of your questions.

Lastly, during the Vietnam War, people started saying that nothing is worth dying for. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Why or why not?

Obviously, I disagree with this statement. People get too hung up on death - or perhaps too hung up on life. They forget that death is not something to fear, especially since it is pretty pointless to fear the inevitable - especially when it is inevitable that it will happen to every single person. So since you're going to die no matter what, wouldn't you rather your death make a difference? Wouldn't you rather save others' lives or something else just as great with your own death? Just like there are things worth living for, there are things worth dying for.

....and things worth waiting for...hahhaha...sorry, had to throw that in.
