The Watcher
As mornings grow our demons hide
Shadows covering what the gods forbid
Eminent truths are only seen
By he whose mind is free and eyes are keen
A deadly fire burns in his eyes
Reveling truth in seas of lies
He sees hope when there is none
But also sees what we've become
Pain and torment hang in the air
More deadly then the serpents stare
Our lives are sin, our world destroyed
Nothing left but a howling void
He knows the darkness of our souls
And the cruelty that we bestow
Upon this world our hatred hath grown
Like wild spirits our evil now roams
We are the fallen, we are the cursed
Upon this world our poisons dispersed
This land we have striped of life
And left only our pain and strife
He knows the written in times of old
Prophecies in blood and stone
Words that spoke of what we’d be
Of how we’d burn our eternal tree
Our world shattered, no more than shards
Our fate strewn across the stars
This life now ends, just shadows and dust
We fade away into the dusk
As mornings grow our demons hide
Shadows covering what the gods forbid
He watches as we live in sin
And knows the end will soon begin
I walk this world as a midnight shadow.
