Last night I was having a discussion with Aguagon about how most books for teenagers appear to be one of three categories: 1. Teen fluff-- all its about is being popular and getting the guy/girl; 2. Manga; 3. Fantasy. Granted, there are books that fit all or none of those genres, but from what I've seen, those are rare. All that being said, if you could write/read any book about anything, what would it be and why?

I would love to read..a teens philosophical perspective of the world now..the realism..as we see it..with the War on Terrorism, Social Justice, Homelessness etc. Something we could bite our teeth into..knaw on.. But would they listen???

quote: id like to read a book that talks about political issues going on today presented in a way young people can understand them. Confused
i think politics are interesting i can just never understand what anyone is saying!
So I guess I should get writing then.

I'd like to write a history book presented in such a style that people can figure out how cool the past was. I mean hell the past has all that cool stuff from action books, wars, sword fights, high romance, honor duels, pirates. ninjas, samurai, knights, heros and villians and all that cool stuff isn't told very well by the history books

manga books are actually good, atleast some of them, they open our mind and see how lucky we are, or see that we can do anything..plus they can brighten your day.. it just depends on the manga.

If I could read or write a book about anything, I think it would be about something that kids our age can relate to. Fantasy books are a great escape, but sometimes you want to hear about people like you.
