There once was an anciant village high in the tibetan mountains. A village farmer went to the towns wiseman to ask for advice. "Oh great wiseman! I'm going to go crazy! My house is so crowded! My 3 kids, wife, 4 relatives, an me all live in a small 2 roomed shack together! please, help me, what can I do!" The wise man replied, "what animals do you have." "A goat and some chickens." Said the farmer. "take the goat to live with you in the house." replied the wise man. "I don't understand, but because you are wise I will do as you say." the farmer said sadly. The farmer came back a week later. "I can't take it! it's a madhouse, it's worse than before! Please help!" The wise man replied "Take the chickens to live with you in the house" The farmer looked shocked and said "This is madness, but I will try it." The farmer came back again a week later. "Wise man, I am leaving my home, I feal as if every moment is torture now! Everything you have said has not helped!" The wiseman said "take the goat and chickens out of your house." The farmer left to do as he was told. He came back two days later happy and jumping. "It worked! my house is so nice now! It's so peacfull! You are a great and honored wiseman!"

A friend of mine did this skit in middle school. He got to play one of the chickens, while most of the actual people were made of cardboard. That sounded wholly retarded to me.
I like these calm little moments before the storm.

Not so much about reletivism, it's sort of confusing but not confusing. It talks about looking outside of the box. In the book it talks about four common crazy wisdom archetypes. The clown, The Jester, The Trickster, and The Fool. With each one there is a famous example of the type of crazy wisdom, such as the clown, who makes dark things light again. Through the clowns suffering we find happines. Triping over himself and squirting other clowns with water. I'm sure you could think up a few. Elmer Fudd was the example used in the book. The Jester, wits and critics. Stand up comics. They show the establishment's lies and make light of the popular social scene. He gets away with dangerous revelations by making them funney. Mark Twain was a Jester. And so on. It would be alot easier to understand if you read the book. I'm not sure where it could be found though, because I got it at a used book store.

crazy wisdom? sounds fascinating ... is it a book about relativism you mean? Because I'm always wary about that subject.

I got the story in a book called Crazy Wisdom by Wes Nisker. It's a good book, and I would recomend it to anyone. It's about philosiphy, how all things are relative, and basicly I'm not realy sure of it's point so far. It's crazy. But good!

It must be lovely to wake up in the morning and understand everything.

I heard that story in 2nd or 3rd grade...I cannot remember where. I think my teacher read it to us or something.

Clever. Where did you find this story?
Only simple and quiet words will ripen of themselves. For a whirlwind does not last a whole morning, nor does a sudden shower last the entire day.
