People corrupt. Power corrupts people who let it. Her novels are full of corrupt people who have attained power which they weild to benefit their corruption. Don't make simplistic comments about highly complex philosophies. Do some of you notice that philosophy book writers seem to talk about rand like they have never read her work? They maybe read Anthem or Atlas shrugged but then they base all of their understandeing of her on their small window of information. -----"""Actually, Bush was smarter than what the blue states could produce to go against him."""--- Not really...this election was about issues, not the people representing their parties. Why else would people vote for either of those morons? It was about every person in America having opinions on either abortion, gay-marriage, the "war on terror" or being pro-christian, and they voted accordingly. Bush himself didn't do anything that intelligent really, he didn't even write his own speeches, and you saw how he handled himself in the debates. Kerry was about as seductive as a slab of concrete, but I don't think there was much he could have done to change the outcome.

-----""" (which is a great refletion of the left's inability to rationally think-hence "Bush sucks" and "I hate Bush"."""--- Bush was elected by overall the stupider part of our country, who liked him because he was Christian and cowboy-like. That's much less rational thinking. I read one or two articles by Ayn Rand in my Theory of Knowledge class. I can't really remember them. Therefore; she sucks.

Ayn Rand's philosophy is based on the naïve assumption that power doesn't corrupt. We wouldn't have to look out for one another if the world were perfect; alas, it's not, so we need eachother. BTW, Ayn Rand's writing is so stiff and artificial. Her characters are shallow and robotic, especially in their dialogue.

Some of it, but I gave it up because of lack of time.

*Shrugs* I read Atlas Shrugged and I really did not get anything out of it. At all. I have an open mind and enjoy great literature, but I just don't see what the big fuss about her is. If you can explain to me what makes her so great, I might change my mind.

BS, you are under the assumption that pro-communist people can't also be objectivists. I think you mean that Ayn Rand was anti-Communist, not anti-communist. There is a difference.

Ironman, maybe you do not realize that Ayn Rand is probably the most virulent anti-communist writer ever. And if you do, then you are not a commie. Jenos, you are an idiot. Your statement, aside from being pretty anti-woman, is just stupid. Being a female writer does not make ou a whore and you seem to think that Ayn Rand did not have her own ideas. This, of course, is classic being that liberals think that all conservatives are robots and slaves to time and logic and cannot think for themselves. I am sure you think for yourself, you have horrible and idiotic ideas but I wouldn't call you a sheep. Her books are quite controversial and throw out some far right ideas that many people would disagree with, she is certainly not a sheep and she has excellent ideas. Rather than saying that "Atlas Shrugged suck[s]" (which is a great refletion of the left's inability to rationally think-hence "Bush sucks" and "I hate Bush". I think you should grow up) maybe you could lay out some logical reasoning for your idiotic statement.

A commie who thinks Ayn Rand is a great writer? Hell's thermostat must be broken.

Atlas Shrugged sucked. Ayn Rand is nothing more than a capitalist whöre.
