Do any of you read plays? I hgave only read a few, but have recently been captivated by them. I particually like An Inspector Calls and The Importance of Being Earnest. Can any one recommend more plays for me to read?
Only simple and quiet words will ripen of themselves. For a whirlwind does not last a whole morning, nor does a sudden shower last the entire day.
I MUCH prefer musicals, but plays are cool. I know most hardcore theatre actors believe musicals/Broadway are lesser actors, but honestly? Don't care. I love music, so music + plays = fun for Euterpe.
The reason I hated Romeo and Juliet, was that it wasn't a very well thought-out story. And for Shakespeare, whose works inspire millions, that's a lame-o story. I mean granted, it's been done billions of times since then. (West Side Story, etc) but it's played.
It's too easy. Oh, our families are fueding, what shall we do? I know, let's kill ourselves! Great plan! Let's not have to deal with ANY outside force because we're selfish, idiotic, young, but oh-so-in-love *******s.
I much prefer Macbeth and As You Like It to that drabble.

Oh man. Not only is my favorite band named after Antigone, it's one of my favorite texts of all time.
Oedipus is awesome, as well. It's part of my curriculum this year, and I'm psyched.
Though, the first time I read through The Illiad, I was blown away. Macbeth is great, and I love As You Like It.

Just because nobody understands you, that doesn't mean you're artistic.
My beautiful friend, Cat, does a lot of theater and is majoring in something to do with theater too (I forget what)...I think she eventually wants to design costumes which is awesome.
Anyway, I know she really likes Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest so I really want to read that one. And I tried to read Death of a Salesman once and I liked what I got to but then I got distracted with something else.

Thomas More has a very good quote dealing with tradgedies, like Lou Gerhigs Disease. I categorize him with the man who wrote Lawrence of Arabia, being more of a romantic. Though both are interesting. Have you seen Whale Rider, a very spiritual yet natural, I would go as far to call it non-fiction , movie from NewZealand. I can refercnce it better if interestd.
