I'm curious to know if people still buy their books the old fashioned way, or go the Amazon route, or still wait for titles to arrive at the library, or some other futuristic way of acquiring books I haven't even heard of yet. So, how do YOU get your Literature?

Oh, that's cool. I didn't know places like that even existed--I guess I'm just jaded from the usual Salvation Army/Goodwill/etc selection.

If by everything you mean everything by Danielle Steele/Tom Clancy/John Grisham/Dan Brown, sure.

I browse the book stores; pick up what looks good and read a couple of pages before I decide on the purchase. But there's also recommendations I take to consideration, whether off websites or friends

I usually go to Books-A-Million or I go to the library. It seems easier than anything else except for the late fees that come from the library lol.

I've been to Powell's before and I loved it! However, I live in the middle of suburbia where our local library isn't that good...I get some stuff there but I prefer Amazon or our local Barnes and Noble (we don't have any independent bookstores around here either...well nothing close by). I'm also lucky that my parents have a huge collection of books, so I get a lot of reading material from them, too.

That sounds cool. There's an independent music store in my neighborhood that's similar...an entire city block with two stories, a performance stage, etc...I love getting lost in buildings like that.

I'm interested in all the classics, because there's more chance of enjoying them and, probably, learning something. It's always easy to pick up these books from charity shops, although the library is my main port of call. The library is great for science, maths and history works, too..

When I'm not looking for anything in particular, I hit up library book sales, funky used book stores, and book swapping sites--it adds an element of chance that you don't usually get online. Sometimes it's all shit, but that's part of the experience.

Fair enough. I was going to say I try to find a lot of online contests and giveaways for books; they're free and the various giveaways tend to narrow down your selections for you...but I feel like you wouldn't like that...
