You hate me,
I don’t know why.
You gave me life,
I wish you hadn’t.
You push me down,
I can’t stand again.
You hurt me over and over,
I won’t recover.
You did it for the last time today,
I left never to see you again.

hmmmmm........ wow

it really doenst matter the shape or size or length of the poem.... i dont write them for other people to really critisize the length,,,, its more the content that is important.

i like other people to read my poetry and say wow. for any reason they say wow is fine with me, positive or negative.... im a optamist now but my poetry shows my pessimist side.. thanx to all who have commented on it....

I have poetry on poetry.com too. You do have to buy your books from them, which is okay with me. It's like a keepsake, ya know? I haven't gotten one yet, but I will. I think I'm in about 4 books so far.

Hmm... For a narrative poem, it's a little on the short side, but that's not too important. Like one of my first, one about the death of a friend, this obviously didn't get much thought as to the minor subtleties that make great poetry. While I understand that it's hard to really think about little details when you are just trying to vent emotion, a small bit of structure can be the difference between a mediocre poem and a brilliant poem in one as short as this.

yeah i know.... thats one reason why i dont go plus i heard that they steal poetry

Probably. It's, like, $300 or more per person just to go... that doesn't cover the expenses of hotels, airplane tickets, etc.

First of all.... it wasnt published by poetry.com.... it was published by the american poets society... jamica.... hey, the poem was full of anger and fustration. really truely i dont like my mother at all AT ALL!! but i wouldnt put it as far as hate... but i think she hates me thats why i wrote it lol... and i think ive been published by poetry.com but i havent seen any of my poems in any books either... they keep inviting me to some comvention thingy but i could never go lol... so yeah thanx for all the replies

nice poem though its kinda sad and i think there is a hint of anger and frustration too... Oh hey, you are a member of poetry.com???? Wow... im a member too and i have sent some poems to enter the contest but so far, no luck. lol. Its ok though coz i saw my poem and my name in their list of members there. I havent opened up my account for like a month now but i will look you up sometime.

All I'm aware of is the fact that they're material.

I can't even find them on places like amazon.com, though. It's like the ONLY place you can get them is THROUGH poetry.com. Never even seen them in libraries, either.

It even says you can find them in major retail bookstores and online booksellers.

I've had three peoms published via poetry.com... and recieved a copy of each book. Don't worry, they're out there. Just probably not out in your local bookstore.

It's a little blatant. You could have used more creative writing, or something to that effect. But it does capture your resentment for your mother quite well. It's obviously worth being published.
