Ok, I hardly ever start new forums (and I have never publisided any writing of mine before,) but I really wanted to post this. We had to do a parable for English, after doing the Canterbury Tales. I thought that mine came out well. Here goes... 'In the beginning of all things was the Blessed Almsivi In the days before lamentation came to the land of Almatiri, that is the Three Realms Almsivi, in spring, the Blessed Almsivi did leave their halls at Hathorum-Act-Amuru as to better enjoy the cool air of the night, where they came upon holy mountail laurel in a glade. Thus sayeth Azura, Blessed Almsivi, Mystery, Queen of the Night, Judge of the fallen, firstborn, High Queen of all the Almatiri: "Seeth thou yon laurel fair? 'Tis color blazen in spring, but look anon! One bud has yet to open. It weaves its garment carefully, the purple, pranked with white, caring not the speedy rise and glory of her commrades, for she will, in her time, rival all the celestial bodies in Our domination, save the Sun." Thus sayeth Mertia, Mastery, Blessed Almsivi, Queen of the Dawn, Prosecuter of the fallen, Lordess of the Stars, Underqueen of Almatiri: "I seeth hither tree, but wonder do I this: The laurel groweth fair in the spring by the combound glory of all; should the laurel put forth one bloom a year, in the manner of the rose, would not have we passed it, taking it for narry but a bramble?" Thus sayeth Almos, Blessed Almsivi, Queen of the Dusk, Mercy, Defender of the fallen, Lordess of the Stars, Underqeen of Almatiri: "'Tis a ponderence indeed. Should the one flower follow the rest, and it would come forth wrinkled as a poppy, but should all wait their time, then narry would the tree come to full glory. But what of the Men and Mer, Constindelii under sun, and Almatia under star? Should the one bow to the greater good of many, or live for the one? At the end of all things is Almsivi.' comments, thoughts, (which flower are you?)

another. I needed the moral to come out: Blessed are the Amazons of the West, The Choosers of Fates, who, in ancient days, forsook thier Isle of pearl and silver to the wave, to save the Earth from Darkness. Blessed is the Queen of Tanequitarii, ruler of the Realm destined thrice to rise and thrice to fall. To this land, before the Choice of the Celepende, before the Breaking of the World, did the ALMSIVI sail upon the waves of the Celestial War. The ALMSIVI pondered long upon the mighty burg of Tanequitari, with its many wharfs and towers, until first spake Almos, Blessed Almsivi, Queen of the Dusk, Mercy, Defender of the fallen, Lordess of the Stars, Underqeen of Lost Almatiri: "Hail the August nation of Nemlina, and the beneficent city of Tanequitarii! Great and merciful in the hour of need, glorious and masterly in all trades devised by Man or Constindelii, Oceanid, God, or Woman! Fair be her towers, wrot of nacre and marble and glass! Fair be her high places of worship and learning! Magnificent be the halls of the queen and the public squares of commerce, upon which the nation depends. Fair be her walls, dwellings, and gardens. There is no taint herein!" Thus saith Mertia, Mastery, Blessed ALMSIVI, Queen of the Dawn, Prosecuter of the fallen, Lordess of the Stars, Underqueen of Almatiri: "But see you not the fault of the Amazons, which will, in its time, bring destruction unto which was once fairly wrot? All built here was done for the reason loathing: pride. Feel you it not? The Amazons order Len Dûn from their mighty places, the people bow down to them, and the Mighty People shape the rivers, seas, and the very bones of the Earth herself! Nemlina is a fair perversion in Len Dûn, the Bitter Sweet, the Stinking Rose. Within the very stones of every building lay arrogance and greed." Thus saith Azura, Blessed ALMSIVI, Mystery, Queen of the Night, Judge of the fallen, firstborn, High Queen of all the Almatiri: “See I both. But I look upon Tanequitarii with a softened eye. For what sin can the Amazons be judged save their minor pride? They are proud, aye, but their pride lends them not to thievery, murder, or deceit. Let it be known to all Amazons, let it be known to all Constandelii and Men, let it pass into proverb among all races, that ‘Pride, in moderation, may eradicate all other sins.’” At the end of all things is Almsivi.'

North, if you ever manage to print it out as a book, I'll give you my adress so you could send me a copy. Honestly, I don't tend to rate people's work, but I really love it. What flower am I? I've been told I'm a black tulip.

thanks kat, I think sparknotes: they go to the town, and ask why three people were hanged. The guard says that the dead stole something. The ALMSIVI ponder whether it was a crime to steal the goat, or whether was it a crime of the society that the men were driven to theivery to survive.

That's very special. I'm sure if I could understand it I would be amazed with your eloquency. Bushism of the day: "Part of the facts is understanding we have a problem, and part of the facts is what you're going to do about it." —George W. Bush, Kirtland, Ohio, April 15, 2005

A new parable, since everyone seems to have HATED the first one... 'In the beginning of all things was the Blessed Almsivi Lamentations unto Len Dûn the Earth! For falleth did the nation of Almatirii, and the moon of Belfii rended usunder the city of Hathorum-Act-Amuru, and the ALMSIVI fled to the west or' the mountains into the land of Homroth, where dwelleth men. Hoped did they to take a ship to the West, to the thrice-blessed isle of Nemlina, where the dark amazon women lived in glory undimmed by the treachery of the Sun. Whilst passing through the land of East Homroth, the ALMSIVI did come upon a hamlet wherein stood a gallow, from whence were hung three by their necks. Thus sayeth Azura, Blessed Almsivi, Mystery, Queen of the Night, Judge of the fallen, firstborn, High Queen of all the Almatiri: "Oh woe woe woe, woe for a vanquished people, how hath battle and blood come to so fair a town." Thus spoke the guard: "Nay fair lady, no maurading band hath layeth hand upon this bastion of the Homroth Confederacy. Those who hang are theives." Thus sayeth Azura: "pray, what tis a theif?" Thus spake the guard: "Lady Innocent-and-Blind! A theif is one who taketh that which not is his own! Thus sayeth Azura: "What take he?" Thus sayeth the guard: "a goat" Thus sayeth Azura: "For what reason must a man in Homroth take what does not his own to survive? Thou haft granaries filled to the brim, and ramparts high upon this town, but thou feedeth not the people of the realm?" Thus sayeth Mertia, Mastery, Blessed Almsivi, Queen of the Dawn, Prosecuter of the fallen, Lordess of the Stars, Underqueen of Almatiri: "Oh a thought on the brow of the Moon! But should all live by the hands of the King like birds on garden barley-corns, for what would a man work? Knoweth we well what it is to be wronged and ruined." Thus sayeth Almos, Blessed Almsivi, Queen of the Dusk, Mercy, Defender of the fallen, Lordess of the Stars, Underqeen of Almatiri: But which has been wronged and ruined? For what should one man be clothed in silk, housed in ebony and alabaster, and lay about the neck of his mate emeralds, lapis, and carbuncles, wretched from the earth, while another must starve in the street? At the end of all things is Almsivi.'
