quote: Yeah, for me it really brought out their human qualities that we tend to forget aobut when the OoP is fighting them. It make them seem much more vulnerable... Exactly. It makes them more three-dimensional; instead of just "Death Eaters", they become "sisters" and "family". You start to look at them in a different way. For me, seeing how deeply Narcissa cared for her son was another such factor.

Yeah, for me it really brought out their human qualities that we tend to forget aobut when the OoP is fighting them. It make them seem much more vulnerable...if only we could have just killed them at that point in the book, think of how much different the rest of it would be. I still can't get over that fact that Dumbledore dies...

More thoughts (spoilers...)
My favorite line (for now) is "There's no need to call me 'sir,' Professor." I laughed out loud at this point.
Harry has to go back to school next year. Seriously, if he doesn't...well, he just HAS to. If there is a school, that is. There had better be. If he doesn't, the next book will be really different from the others. The entire thing would be focusing on Harry's quest and all that, without the distractions of homework, Quidditch, detention, etc. I could see it turning boring that way, but I have faith.
So now Harry has another person he'd like very much to kill. Bellatrix and now Snape. And Voldemort, of course. Will he get his revenge, do you think? Or will he just get Voldemort and leave Snape and Bella to someone else.
Random thought: was it WEIRD to hear Bellatrix calling Narcissa "Cissy"? And to have Narcissa call her "Bella"? The "Cissy" thing made Bellatrix less frightening, in my opinion. I mean, I knew they were sisters, but they ACTED like it.
I cannot believe that now we have to wait so long to find out what happens.

HOLY... (Major spoilers ahead)
Just finished it, and must say one thing: WHY, SNAPE, WHY? I didn't trust him when we found out he was a Death Eater, but I'd started feeling more forgiving. Malfoy wouldn't do it (he came close to giving in to Dumbledore), and then SNAPE!
Ship-wise, I knew it. Those were my three guesses, even the Tonks/Lupin thing. Knew it! Too bad Harry had to break it off with Ginny (but I KNOW they'll pick it up again!).
R.A.B. Do we know Regulus Black's middle name?

RAB is one of those things that will probably make me wonder for the next couple years...next time I decide to reread the series, I will be sure to be on the lookout for any metion of someone with those initials...so ffar it does not seem like they are an evil person...

quote: I never fully trusted him.
I never trusted him at all...and now I know it was with good reason. How can Harry possibly not go back to Hogwarts next year is my big thing. Wasn't that the whole point of having a seven book series??? If he doesn't return to school to finish off his seventh year, what is keeping Jo from adding an eight book? Much as I love the series to death, I almost want the last (what I thought would be seventh) book to come so that I can find out what ultimately happens. My friend (the non HP fan...the stinker...) is convinced that Harry dies in the end because there in nothing (sales wise) to motivate Harry's survival against Voldemort...Man I hope not, wouldn't that be horrible!?!

I read the First Book in second grade. I am now in ninth. I bawled. Snape is the most insensitive wart I have ever had the misfortune to meet. How could Dumbledore not know about the Horcruxes! He seemed to be immediatly humanised when he did not know what would happen with the potion. That disturbed me more than anything. And did it occur to any of you that Voldemort could use a few certain Inferi against Harry? James? Lily? Sirius (wherever his body is and if he is actually dead)? Dumbledore? Harry could not possibly, even though they are dead, injure any of them. I'm amazed at Hermione and Ron's devotion to Harry, to tell you the truth. The fact that they are prepared to leave school for Harry, especially Hermione, shows true friendship and loyalty. I honestly thought Tonks was going to die at the beginning of the book. She was so sick and everything. . . See how much I know. She ends up with a boyfriend at the end. Aww. . . I had only ever thought that could happen in fanfics. Go Rowling! And on Ron and Hermione, they're so stupid (not really). They both like each other. Perhaps now they will realise it. Yea, right. And stop trying to make the other jealous. . . Fleur and Bill? I knew it. Harry was too sweet to pass up a girl like Ginny. *sigh* Someday (if they both survive) they might be able to get back together. Who do you think RAB is? I can't figure it out. Hmm. . . All I can say is, Dumbledore was a special guy. I can't believe Snape went behind the entire Order's back like that. It is purly insane. Though I must congratulate myself. I never fully trusted him. And on to re-reading! Fellow geeks, feel free to discuss or build on these theories and thought. Good luck, and I will also be sobbing in a corner. Wow, I wrote a lot. I just realised that. Bye! ( I'm sure I've forgotten something. Ah well . . . )

I finished reading mine at 7:30 this evening...wow. MAJOR SPOILERS UP AHEAD HERE!!!!!!! DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, READ AHEAD UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY FINISHED ALL 652 PAGES OF THE BOOK!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED... How can she kill off my most absolute favorite charachter in the whole series!?!?!?!?! There were three people I did not want to die (I always knew harry was safe...duh) and they were Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore. The part that killed me most was not when Dumbledore was killed but when Harry tells Dumbldore not to worry and Dumbledore replies, I'm not worried. I'm with you. Then I just knew he woud die and I used up WAY too much kleenex. My friend (who thinks hp is boring and childish...) thinks my reaction was over the top..."it's just a book", but when you started reading the series, getting attached ot the charachters 5.5 years ago (yes it has been that long for me...)... I hate when books just kinda leave you hanging at the end. Now I get to wait another AT LEAST two years to find out what happens next. Harry and Ginny finally end up together and then Harry has to go and ruin it (I compare it to in Spiderman where he denies his feelings for MJ to protect her...). There is still Ron and Hermione, but at least Harry actually realizes it now... AUGH!!! I should never have read the first book until EVERY OTHER BOOK was already written...!
