Hi everybody!

In all cultures there is a definition of what makes a man or women wise. Normally the stero typed wise person is old with white hair and close to death, with a prescene that exused serentity. Is it therefore only age that brings wisdom, or can a preson find it in his/her own chair, without moving? There are many views on this depending on which culture you come from and what religion you follow. Please feel free to express any views you have on Wisdom or other virtues.

Uuuh, death brings wisdom, and another life, though a wise spirit wouldn't choose to live another life of pain and suffering. Unless they're a maschocist, though. Then they might. Or if they love to dominate things, then they might choose another life, or if they're just foolish enough to choose one, they might. Which brings me to the question: does death really create wisdom?

Thank you very much CelticNewAger, i'll take that as a compliment. I'm glad that someone else enjoys living philosophy.

Taoism and Buddhism however, are all about finding wisdom or enlightenment if you prefer. I feel that i also know a lot more than people my age, because i have studied philosophy and various other relgious scriptures of my won choice because i wish to expand my horizens. Therefore, although i am not wise, i at least persue the path to wisdom.

i sounded extreamly pompous and egotistical there didn't I? Ohh well...

I think true wisdom comes from expirience in life. Say, I've gone through a lot of things other kids my age haven't, therefore, I'm wiser than them. It's not physical age, it's your mental age, which is basically your expirience.

Anyways, I like the topics you start.
