I would bet money it is a plublicity stunt... They must be running out of things to talk about in interviews. To be honest he was the last character I would have thought was gay.

This serves absolutely no point. It doesn't add anything to the plot, it doesn't give any sort of deeper understanding of the novel, and she won't even sell any more books with it, seeing as how she's already broken the time-space continuum of book-selling. It's almost like she only added this to make the crazy conservative whackjobs who hate her novels already even more irate. J.K., I love you. 
And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

It seemed like more of a publicity stunt than anything else...I really don't see how it has any other bearing in the story.

That was so ridiculous... Good luck getting the church to be pro-Potter now. You know there are now going to be rumors about inappropriate activity between Harry and Dumbledore... On another note, my ethics bowl team is dubbed "Dr. M's Army."  (Dr. M being our favorite professor.)
