Thursday Night I will be reading my poetry aloud to a room full of strangers for the first time. I've read my poetry aloud before, but I knew the people, and I'm really nervous, about doing it in front of strangers. So, I was wondering if anybody had any advice, or has done a poetry reading before?

Just take a deep breath and read it how you would if no one were in the room. Pretend that no one is there and its just you reading your poetry aloud for yourself. It will sound better and you'll be more confident that way. That's what I do for essays.

So I can pass out in the middle of it!? No thanks! I know atleast 1 guy I like is gonna be there for sure. 1 guy I like might or might not be there, and my best friend's boyfriend, whom I have a slight crush on will be there too! I don't need them thinking I'm even more of a freak!
