I do believe in praying. I have noticed that when I pray, my day usually gets better. This is a poem about a day where I didn't pray.


I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day
I had so much to accomplish
That I didn't have time to pray
Problems tumbled about me
And heavier came each task
"Why doesn't God help me," I wondered
He answered, "Because you didn't ask."
I wanted to see joy and beauty
But the day toiled on, gray and bleek
I wondered why God didn't show me
He said, "Because you didn't seek."
I tried to come into God's presence
I used all my keys at the lock
God gently and lovingly chided.
"My child, you didn't knock."
I woke up early this morning
And paused before entering the day
I had so much to accompish
That I had to take time to pray

i do. when my grandpa was sick and no insurance company would help i prayed the rosary three nights in a row, and the next week he suddenly got permission to have a motor wheelchair and money for his surgery. it was so weird. the isnurance companies didnt even answer my grandmas phone calls at all before that!

2 hands working is more powerful than 1000 clasped in prayer.

Prayer is merely a way to dupe yourself into thinking things will be better. It's a mind thing. If you tell yourself the day will be good, it will be. If you go around thinking how horrible your life is, you'll have a crappy time of it.

I don't pray, and I don't have any problems. I stopped praying when I realized it wasn't doing anything. I'd pray for help, I'd pray for guidance, I'd pray for others. "Ask and ye shall receive," my foot. I've been asking for years and I've received nothing. Thus, I've decided to change my way of thinking and make my own decisions, my own choices, and do things my own way.

I could crap a whole watermelon and it would be less painful than saying the word "prayer".

I don't agree with the catholic church. Does God exist? Sure. But why do I feel like in order to be a part of it, I have to grovel at His feet? Praying to me is like worship and I don't think that ANYBODY should EVER be worshipped. We are all equal. Nobody deserves any more or less attention then the next dude. Praying is a nice concept..it helps people calm down when they get stressed but I think that what happens to me during the day, is up to me - not God. Your poem was very good by the way.
