Read something interesting. It theorized that "One's" like Neo in the Matrix exist in the real world. They don't have super powers o anything, rather the is an individual, when a group of people are placed in tribulating and horrifying circumstances (think concentration camp) while the majority degrades to the basic struggle for survival one remains 'human' retaining the dignity and kindness it entails. And there's always only one. And if this one is destroyed, by being revealed to be a fake or falling to the lvl of the others struggle for survival, the rest of the population will give up, becoming little more than walking dead. The one's symbol of 'humanity' allows the general population to fight for survival. There will always be this link to humanity that humans will have as long as they survive, because if it is destroyed, the population gives up on living. interesting theory.

You're right, in an allegorical sense. The "ones" are the people who have the drive and courage to see beyond what seems and the charisma to try to make others see what they see, impossible or not. See Plato and Shakespeare. In layman's terms, we would say that the ones are the artists.
