I don't know if there's a live censorship thread floating around, and frankly, I don't give a <bleep>. So onto the topic at hand! I've been reading (get it?) up on censorship and all the whiny parents who don't want their kids exposed to the real world. For instance, many people for a long time have gotten their togas in a knot over Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Why? Because of gratuitious use of the N-word. No, not NCLB, nice try. They think it's offensive that Twain used the racial slur so much. Wow, bet they wouldn't have liked to have lived back then. Fact is, Twain wrote like that to show how life was. N*gger was used at least five times in every sentence if the subject of conversation was black. Of course, the book is also a satiric social commentary, but why go through the bother of using all those big words when...oh never mind. I'll just get censored. So, to get straight to the point, what do you think about censorship? Do you like it (you book-burning Nazi)? Do you hate it? Do you even know what a book is? Discuss.
The more you know, the less you don't know.
