Okay, I've read Gulliver's Travels this year, and I really liked it, though some parts were awkward...for example the Yahoo that attempts to rape Gulliver and the fact that he pees on the palace to extinguish the fire in Lilliput. Anyways, any thoughts or feelings on Gulliver's Travels. Something I've been thinking about is what point do you think that Swift was trying to get across with the Yahoos?

I found some parts quite entertaining, but Swift has an obsession with urination, I tell you. Anyways, that's what I'd thought of the Yahoos too. Any other opinions?

Liked the book couple of graphic parts that i didn't like, still like Swifts satire. Kal is right about the yahoo's ..they represent man's depravity. Did anybody else find the book funny? Or was it just me ?
That might not make any sense but right now I'm too tired to explain it to you or to care .......

oh i didn't see the rest of the question. the yahoos represent the depravity of man. our innate depravity at least. and the houyhnhnms (or however it's spelled) are the complete opposite. but gulliver sees the houyhnynms are just as bad if not worse because they HAVE reason and are still brutish.

I read this book, and for the most part enjoyed it. I think the only part I did not like was when the scientists tried to shove feces up their ass to have food come out their mouth.
I like these calm little moments before the storm.
