___Either jen has suddenly sprouted a brand new incredibly sarcastic sense of humor, or she died and went to Conformity Hell. I would have gone to her funeral had she past on from natural causes, but I can't deal with murder. I will however always remember the good times she had here... no matter how limited her days as a living, breathing, sane individual truly were.

You all may have noticed I've been gone from the boards for a few days--I've been at a church retreat. I've finally seen the truth of it all, you guys! Jesus really is the only way to God; you have to believe me, Gem. I don't want you to go to hell like all the other non-believers. The whole atheism thing is just a delusion. Jesus really does love you, and he really did die for you. All you have to do is ask forgiveness, Gem, and you'll be saved!

i havn't been on yn for several months. and i just had some free time and thought i get back into the swing of things. i always loved chatting on the noiseboards, so imagine my surprise when the first post i wander into is about how people who don't believe in jesus are "stupid". i just want to make sure that everyone knows that not all christians are like you. i'm Jewish, and i'm a member of my school speech team. one of my teammates is a pious christian. in fact, his family moved here as missionaries to start a church. however, never once have i heard him mention "jesus" in everyday conversation. at least not in an intimidating way. the way you do. His name is gabe, and he's one of the nicest people i've ever met. he's what i like to call "inteligent". he knows its not his place to pressure people into accepting jesus. he lets his friends make their own desicions. it's called free will, and it's what makes us human. I was lucky to grow up in a very excepting, liberal community where acceptance has been instilled in me since preschool. i'm lucky enough to have friends who are jews, christians, muslims, russian orthodox, christian scientists, greek orthodox, unitarian, wiccan, athiest, jews who converted to christianity, and christians who converted to judaism. to name a few. i have the decency to respect your religion, and you should you should have the decency to respect mine (and other peoples) religion (or lack thereof). oh, one final note. the Passion was one of the most sublty racist movies created during my lifetime, and probably for some time before. take another look at it, and this time listen to the audio soundtrack. notice how, during shots of jesus and and other "good guys", you hear traditional western music in the background. however, during shots of the romans, jews, or other "bad guys" you hear distictly k***mer music, a very traditional jewish style. coincidence? not even if i did know how to spell it. think about it.
