Can we retire the word "poser"?

I'm so sick of that word. I'm one of those people who buys clothes they like---I don't pick them out specifically to be "preppy" or "goth" or "punk" or "nerdy" or whatever the hell you want to call my clothes. I just pick out what I like. When I started getting into more bands in the 7th grade, I started wearing some band T-shirts and, all of a sudden, I was labeled a poser! I just wore the shirt because I liked the band! Since I've now grown into more of who I am, I no longer get the poser crap very often but I still take up for those who get called that. It's completely immature.

How can I possibly be a poser when I'm just being myself?

id o admit that i hate stereotypitical remarks, but i also admit that they are what adds funk to life, just as long as they arent hurtful which in most cases they are.(unfortunately)

I don't use the word poser. It is so ridiculous. If someone is a poser, than they are defining a sterotyped label, which is ackowledging the exsistance of such a label. So, I don't use poser.

why do people have to be posers in the first place, if someone likes something, they should express it, whether its through clothes or personality, but if people have a rollings stones shirt on and dont know who the heck the rolling stones are, by all means, tell them they shouldnt be wearing it if they know nothing about it.

since there are so many poser punks and goths, people now automatically think youre a poser too
