This may seem like its on the wrong board to some people but most of you will get it. Love means nothing these days. What are your thoughts on this. can you feel what i'm saying without me having to explain more? or are you totally lost?

OKAY FIRST BEFORE ALL OF YOU WHO BELIEVE THAT DON'T BELIEVE TEENS KNOW WHAT LOVE IS LET ME JUST STATE THIS, I THINK THAT YES TEENS DO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS BUT NOT MANY OF THEM TRUELY EXPERIENCE IT BUT IT IS POSSIBLE. NOW WITH THAT SAID.....
TEENS ARE VERY CAPABLE OF FEELING LOVE AND GIVING LOVE (NOT THE PHYSICAL ACT, THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER SUBJECT). THERE IS NO AGE AT WHICH WE DEVELOP OUR EMOTIONS. THEY HAPPEN AS WE EXPERIENCE THEM.
AND ALSO THERE IS TWO MEANINGS TO LOVE...LOVING A PERSON OR BEING IN LOVE. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. I LOVED ONE OF MY PAST BOYFRIENDS, AND I TRUELY FELL IN LOVE WITH MY LAST BOYFRIEND. HE HAS HIS FLAWS, BUT THAT PART OF WHY I LOVE HIM. I THINK WHAT HAPPENS MOST OF THE TIME IS TEENS MIX UP BEING IN LOVE AND JUST LOVING SOMEONE. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE NOT CAPABLE TO BEING IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE.
AN EXAMPLE WOULD BE MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS. I LOVE LISTENING TO THEM TELL ME THEIR STORY. THEY MET WHEN MY GR-GRANDFATHER MOVED INTO A HOUSE DOWN THE STREET FROM GRAMMY'S. SHE AND HER FAMILY WENT DOWN TO WELCOME THE NEW FAMILY. (I SHOULD CLARIFY THAT GRAMMY WAS 12 AND PAPPY WAS 15) THEY BECAME REALLY GOOD FRIENDS AFTER THAT AND SOON WENT OUT. THEY NEVER BROKE-UP. THEY GOT MARRIED WHEN GRAMMY WAS 17 AND STAYED HAPPILY MARRIED UNTIL 1 YEAR AGO WHEN PAPPY DIED AT THE AGE OF 89.
SO YES I DO BELIEVE THA IT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO KNOW LOVE.

love is a word. some mean i love you like a friend. but love can be a really strong word. you shouldnt use that form soo freely if you are going to use the word about a friend it is better to use luv bc love can give off the wrong expression. exspecailly if it is towards the oppisite sex. have love for the world and luv for your freinds..well g2g if you have anything to say email me

I think its suppose to be that special something that holds two people together its suppose to be beautiful. I never felt like that but love is special...and I think that in this life time you are meant for one special person. and that person will love you forever...in every way. Love...is everything.

hello everybody. i just wanted to say something about love. i do beleive in love and there are many people i do love, but i think that love is not found by searching for it. it comes naturally.all this i love you bull**** has gotta stop people throw that 4 letter word around way way way too much and i hate seeing people get hurt because they thought someone loved them and they were shut down. i beleive you can find it in highschool but it doesent happen very often...
and another thing about love...love doesent happen without lust. you see someone and your like " god that girl/guy is hot" then u talk to them and you find out alot about eachother and then u can fall in love.. u dont just fall in love with someone... it just doesent happen... sorry and i dont beleive in love at first sight. i beleive in lust at first sight. you dont love the way someone looks you love their personality. you can like how they look but once you get to know them it makes them even more beautiful but it is the personality that you love. thanks for reading my comment

Love does exist, it's just hard to find so some people loose hope and start thinking it doesn't but it's really a beautifull thing, and if you really think about it eveyone has experienced love, with family and friends and stuff like that!

if you don't believe in love per hear say...then do you believe in humanity? Or family? Or friendship? How can some of you believe that love doesn't exist at all? Love is the only reason this world has anything good in it. Cause if there is no love. There's hate. But then again if you want to take a deeper look, look at it this way. If you only believe in hate...how can hate exist without love? Hate needs love to exist. It's like wrong can't exist without right. Think bout it!

I think that teenagers CAN be in love. It may not always end in a happily ever after like fairy tale love, but it is real, and it hurts. Like many others who have responded to this, I think that when you say "I love you" to a person you should mean it. People just need to realize the subtle difference between holding a hand, and chaining a soul.

Alot of you people seem pretty bitter. Did someone get in a bad realtionship? I mean... god gods above, you people think love means nothing? I agree with the people that say love *is* something. Love is something to a hard thing, yes... and usually out of it does come hurt. But there is pain in everything. You cant avoid it. If you refuse to love... that is a sad thing indeed.

There is no such thing as *love.* People can not feel love for anything until they stop thinking about themselves. NO one does anything any more unless it some how benifits them. So what you think that you are feeling is love is just another selfish feeling. So get over it. You want love, eat chocolate, it causes the same chemical reaction. Do the word a favor any ways and don't *fall in love and get married* and no kids, the world is overpopulated enough already.

im in love with this girl in fact were dating i know what love is casue i found it in her……she brings out the best in me all the time…she makes my rainy days sunny…imnot too young to love…

love do we as teens really know the meaning of that word. i don't know now a days teens are using that word alot i know it describes a feeling but do we as teens know how that feeling feels no some might think their in love but love is too much of a stronge word to stay and not have feelings behind it. people often get hurt because of that word. so why say something that would eventually leave you feeling sad and alone. i think no good could really come out of teenage love or puppylove as some call it.the only thing you will end up having is a broken heart.

I think that when you love somebody... & u actually say it to them... then u should really mean it & not just kidd bout it cause i think love is a very strong word... & if u joke bout it people could get hurt emotionally & physically. i do not think that love & just a crush is the same!! I think true love is something rare and hard to find but as for heartbreak I only have one scar that will never heal only become more a part of me but I have a few cracks that I know will heal.

I think that LOVE may be forever, but people do use it too much, then it becomes routine...if you say I LOVE YOU, i think you should mean it, and not have it come as some routine saying that you feel obligated to say...lust, i don't think lust is all wrong,..just don't confuse lust and love

First of all if you haven't been in love then you don't know the heights it can take you to. Love is a tricky thing- don't rush it when it's right it's right and when it's true it's true. IF YOUR LOVE IS TRUE then it will be returned- if it's not returned it's not right. Most of all don't change- once you change you've lost yourself and your reason to live and love...Love can't be described even by the greatest poets, because the heart knows no words.

Hey, this answer may be coming a little late, but as someone a little older than average in this site, I'm 22, I can tell you it's not because you've got disappointed a couple of times that you have to totally disbelief love. Disappointments will happen just about so many times in your life and not only in love, in friendships, in careers, if you just give up, life will definitely not be fun for you anymore.
Now, getting back to the meaning of love, in my opninion love happens in many forms and it can be transformed, although I believe true love never dies. That's the real secret, although for you to actually find the love of your life, everything has to be conspiring to help make it happen, your personal lives, school, career, etc. if not it might be that the timing is not right, but you can always catch up again later, after all we all have a long journey ahead of us, and if it doesn't work out now, you don't have to think it's the end of your life, it's just a new beginning.

ahh..i can feel it. love is in the air.
