Um, probably no one is going to have a clue what I'm talking about, but here goes. I have a new chinese tea set (porcelain, not clay) and I need to know how to brew loose green tea without making it really bitter. The tea set is very tiny, with little 1 oz. cups. All the internet instructions are for clay pots or Gai Wans (aka guywans) and those instructions make really bitter tea, even when I decrease the brewing time and use less leaves. Can anybody help me? I was hoping there might be someone out here who is Chinese or just knows something about brewing tea. Thanks, Jen.

I appreciate the tips. I'm glad somebody knew what I was talking about; I thought everyone would just kind of stare blankly. I'll get the hang of this tea thing eventually...and, by the way, never put marshmallow cream in your tea. Especially green tea. Love, Jen.

You can either filter the tea by pressing the leaves.. but that requires a tea brewing.. machine thing. Just leave it in boiling water. The tea is supposed to taste somewhat bitter (that's why most people don't drink it). We use a porcelain pot, too. It's very tiny. And don't put sugar in it. Then it just tastes really sick.

put sugar in it. heh.
my tea set is clay so i can't help ya out there.
hm, maybe try using a different tea. i think the type you are using are too bitter for you if you have already reduced the number of minutes and the amount of leaves you use.
hope that helps
much luv
