Only on yn you would hear that.

It gets pretty routine and boring. I almost cherish when I get the obnoxious, rude and difficult customers on the phone, just because it's something different.

I would like to answer phones...I think that would be fun. Sometimes I like to use our play phones and have conversations with non-existent people on the other end...like the time I called 911 for pizza because my pet wombat ran away. Or when they would not admit my son Terrence to the Institute for the Child Prodigy. And sometimes my friend Maranda calls one of my many different hotlines. Is it fun to answer phones when there is actually someone on the other end?

Ahh, yeah, I don't actually go to peoples' houses...though I've often wished I did. I just answer the phones...all day.

Once a carpet-cleaning lady came to my house. I did not like her and she did not like me - it was a mutual feeling. She managed to insult pretty much my entire life before she was through. At least she didn't charge extra for that, though... I am sure you are a much better carpet-cleaning person than that.

I work in the cleaning department for a company that sells rugs, cleans rug in a plant and also cleans on location (in-home carpet, upholstery and drapery cleaning). We're the best service for the best price.

Wow, Meagan, you had quite a day. Actually your job sounds quite amusing, although I like mine. Nothing beats preschoolers. Do you work somewhere selling rugs?

We'll miss you YV. Take care. I used to hate the dentist, now I go to this place where they have a waiting room with a fireplace and squishy chairs. All of the exam rooms are painted differently and have cool furniture in them. That alone makes it 10x better than my pediatric dentist...and the fact that everyone I've met there is super nice is just an added bonus. So that lasagna Amp? Here is how my day went with it: I was able to convince someone not to cancel their $250 cleaning order. I sat on the phone with someone for 21 minutes, went over the pricing of upholstery 4 times, only to have them say they would call back. (This cut into my lunch by 5 minutes, she ended up calling back, talked to one of my coworkers for 10 minutes and finally booked an appointment.) I had one lady call me up swearing right and left because she called on Saturday and someone was supposed to call her today and didn't. Mind you, I didn't work on Saturday, I have no authority to offer her a discount on rug delivery, but she still chose me as the one to scream at. I ended up resolving her issue, got her the discount she requested but didn't deserve or even warrent, and then apoligized that the idiot manager in the rug plant didn't call her today. "I'm so sorry no one returned your call this morning, that was an oversight on our part, I did get the discount approved though, and your rugs will be delivered between 10 and 12 tomorrow for you." To which she replies, "I'm sorry no one ever returned my call, because that time simply does not work for me." Stupid lady, don't make us jump through hoops for you only to then blow off our remedies. THEN she calls back to tell us that she WOULD like us to deliver her rugs tomorrow...and then yells at the lady who answers her call saying that we are always on other calls when she phones in, and that we need to stop talking on the phone. She doesn't seem to understand that mean and stupid people help to get us through our day...they're usually good as subjects of about 15 minutes worth of sarcastic and witty comments. Then I had a lady who apparently scheduled for today, though we had her down for next Monday. The person who does our scheduling told me I could get someone there on Wednesday, and I told him it was unacceptable, and that he needed to get someone there today. This lady was so appreciative, she didn't even seem upset that we were the ones who made the error in the first place, and thanked me profusely for caring enough to make sure someone was out there for her. I usually don't get so many memorable calls all in one day...

Yes, we will. And I will miss your tolerance for my bad Spanish. And the LTBR thread will not be the same, but we will keep it going for you. Like Sahn said, you deserve the best.

I'm sorry, YV. I will be sad to see you go, and I know I won't be the only one who is, but I understand how you feel, and I respect that. You are a really special person. I hope everything goes okay for you.

Dear Friends, I wanted to post this here, because I don't want to make a whole thread about it. I just wanted to say that you will most likely not see me around YN anymore. I'm not sure for how long. I've tried to continue with my normal routine of posting and replying to the many threads here. But lately I just find it so hard to concentrate. I use to care about what I wrote, but now, not so much. It's hard to find something that truly calls out to me. My mind is just too overwhelmed with too many other thoughts and worries. I've tried for things to be normal, but they will never be the same ever again, no matter how hard I try to fool myself in to believing they will. If you IM me or send me an email, please don't take it personally if I don't respond. Sometimes my mind is just somewhere else. Sometimes I don't have the energy to have a conversation. I just can't think straight anymore. I don't know for how long I'll feel this way. If I'll come back in days, weeks, months, years or perhaps never. But I just wanted to let you all know so that you wont worry. And also, because a lot of you have been truly supportive, caring, understanding and deserve to know what's going on. To those of you that have been there for me, you know who you guys are, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wont ever forget it. And I wont ever forget about you guys. Take care all, and happy posting. Sincerely, YouthVoice

That's amazing - it sounds really cool. But I still think you should have played it for the UPS guy...he must learn to appreciate fine music.

quote: Maybe the UPS guy does not like saxophone music. You should play it for him. Maybe. I find this very funny. The saxophone its an Alto by the way, is beautiful. It has engravings all over the bell. It also plays like in my dreams. The first tune i played was The Marines Hymn, it was the one my family decided I should play, as sorta a initiation into something, can't remember what they said tuned out by then.

My sax just came in the mail. The UPS guy looked mad. Gotta go look at it. I am very excited. I did hear that song once IG.
