I only work 3.5 hours today!! However, once I get home, I have about 50 multiple choice management questions to look up (he doesn't teach from the book...but that's where the questions originate) and complete, a few pages to read for Spanish and then three short dialogs to complete and I have a 72 page Supreme Court brief that needs to be edited, condensed and formatted for my moot court team's use...for tomorrow.

On another note, I'm allergic to cardboard. I have scratches and cuts on my forearms from carrying and cutting boxes at work...and they are all broken out with welts and blotches.

Wow. Are you trying to sound smarter than me, Pre-law? Try simpler terms for this simple Shade.

I'm editing a 72 page legal document for my moot court team's use. This is the way I speak, look at many of my past posts and I'm sure you will get a feel for my vernacular.

quote:
Your opinion of returning his disrespect is rude beyond measure.

So pointing out disrespect is disrespectful? Now there's a paradox for you.

Something you seem to be overlooking in all of this...YOU are returning the disrespect. If you disagree, just read some of your prior posts. You have become what you started out to condemn.

quote:
Where is forgiveness?

Ooh! We just discussed forgiveness in theology on Thursday! I was graded based on how well I was able to articulate my personal beliefs of it. Forgiveness is difficult to come by in my book, both on a personal and theological level. A person has to ask for forgiveness, and be truly sorry for what he or she did. They have to have complete non self-serving purposes with a pure heart that truly understands its transgressions and resolves to never again commit the act. Only then can a person expect to be forgiven.

My beliefs on that go along with the fact that I don't think a criminal can, at the end of his life, realizing that he is going to die and end up in Hell, wishing he hadn't done the things he had, ask for God's forgiveness and have everything be hunky dory.

You want me to grant forgiveness? I'm not in the business of just granting it...I didn't even hear a lame "I'm sorry, will you forgive me?" let alone a statement of true repentance. That would be like expecting you to forgive me for pointing out that Jenos was rude to me, without me saying anything. Be careful where you're pointing...

quote:
Where is grace? Where is human decency?

It is clear we feel differently about these two issues. For one thing, I believe grace is divine. And if you truly believe that the way you are now treating me is "decent," then I really don't think you are really the moral authority you are pretending to be.

Wow. Are you trying to sound smarter than me, Pre-law? Try simpler terms for this simple Shade. In past or in future, my position will remain the same. I won't let you say anything negative about him. Your opinion of returning his disrespect is rude beyond measure. Where is grace? Where is human decency? Where is forgiveness? If you cannot comprehend any of those, then what I am saying is lost on you. I suppose it already is. But I'm not going to continue this anymore.

So today I worked 12:30-8. Santa flew in today on a military helicopter (which took up a huge section of the parking lot...I didn't think it was unreasonable to allow 15 minutes to park, but I still ended up 2 minutes late to work) and there was a huge sale at one of the department stores at my mall...thus, it was insanely busy. The second I get there I'm told to get on the register...because apparently I'm really good as cashier and better than some of the regular employees. I was stuck there for the entire SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS (excluding my half hour break) with barely any break in the traffic flow. I love how my competency is rewarded with my having to do a job I greatly dislike...

quote:
But I'm not going to let you say shit about him. Is that clear?

Hmm...so my saying that Jenos has always treated me rudely means that I am "say[ing] shit about him?" You will notice that that is the only sentiment I mentioned about him. I fail to see how my mentioning my interactions with an individual is at all tantamount to defamation.

If you look at the law on this one, the idea of slanderous speech (libel in its printed form), defaming speech is only considered slander if it is untrue. Thus, had I been treated with respect in the first place, calling Jenos rude would be untrue, and I would have had no reason or justification to say what I did. However, this was not the case, therefore, the things I said were fact, and any reasonable person would not hold them against me.

Now that I can finally come online again, I can't find any topics to that I feel like posting on. Meh.

Then make one up. Smile

Meg. I answer as I read. As you see it typed, is how I type it. Would you think for a minute and maybe that's how people answer posts?

Haha. Sure. If that's how you want to warp what I said. I don't really care. It was just an analogy. Shade=Writer. Shade does that. But frankly, I don't care how much you "argue." I don't argue. I don't care if he's wrong. But I'm not going to let you say shit about him. Is that clear?

Sure Shade, you agree with a truce in the same post that you throw in a few more jabs at me.

quote:
Meagan. I am in this matter. I am not going to sit by and let you continue with your little tirade. If someone is not there to defend [themselves] I will do it for them. You know, I would hate to see what happens when you actually come across someone who really is out to get you.

I'm pre-law. I will argue to the bitter end to prove my point, as I frequently do during moot court sessions where I speak for a half hour and have to stand there and defend my position against verbal attack from opposing justices. In this case, I was challenged and I replied through my citation of facts. I did not try to pass anything off as fact that was untrue, if you care to challenge me on this, please do so. I'm sorry if that makes you angry and defensive, but that's just me for you.

Did I ask you to get involved in this matter? No. Do I think Jenos needs someone else to defend him on this matter? No. Jenos and I joined within 4 days of each other and have been dealing with each other for over 4 years now and he has never been remotely nice to me...a sentiment which I have always just ignored. Now I am fed up with your infantilizing both he and I. Leave your nose out of it and let him stand up for himself if he so desires. (I fail to see him getting all out of whack over it...)

American Politics test today. Meeting with my moot court team...though I know 2 of them can't make it and I haven't heard from the other 2. Then I'm on call 3-6 and working 6-9...my saving grace there is that I don't have to close. Smile

OUR MOOT COURT BRIEF IS ONLINE!!!! It saved us/me HOURS of work. Mind you, it is 72 pages in its current form, so I will need to do some condensing...

Right noe, I'm trying to find away to get the marker off the Smart Board...... what moron puts marker on a 10,000 dollar piece of technology?

We use smart boards at school. Due to the fact that they are so expensive, not all of the teachers get them. However, I think it is ridiculous which of the teachers get to use them. My Spanish teacher gets one just because he is one of the technology directors, and last year my civics teacher had one, though she NEVER used as a smart board, just as a projection screen. I would much rather have them in our science labs where they would be so much more beneficial.

OOH! One of the women at my church used to sell those! They are so much fun! Smile

So I got a call from my mom today. Her heart rate was 180/120 and she was at Urgent Care. Her work sent her there and I had to go pick her up. Now I've been having to make sure that she stays hydrated and that she eats. So scary.

I'm headed to my Phi Alpha Delta induction now. I get to drive a half hour to school (in Detroit, in the dark) for a half hour ceremony and then drive a half hour home. Oh what fun...
