Hi, i am writing a paper on marriage and divorce. In the U.S. , when you get divorced there is no penalty. However, some people believe that this wrong because marriage is suppose to be a legal contract between two people. What do you think?

This doesn't even belong here in randomosity. And I wouldn't take bauhaus' view on marriage as fact. Marriage is a legal contract, hence the "Certificate of Marriage" and the fact that the law calls it marriage.

Civil Union is a contract, but marriage is just something through the church.
