today was probably the happiest day of my life..i started something that i cant exactly call any official organisation but a gruop of 15 of my friends are a part of this..we still havent given it a name..but we have already started pooling in as much money as everyone can give every month..we are going to open a bank account with this money n save up nuff for the kids currently in the 7th grade at the remand home i teach and give something like a scholarship..plus now i have like ppl who teach all sorts of stuff..like 2 of them are teaching only science and math..then one of them is doing only orientation prgrams..2 teach them football and the rest teach them english...i am trying to get more genuine ppl to volunteer though they are loads coming ahead to do something...im looking for people who will sustain it...so anyway we still havent given our gruop a name..so if u cud give us some suggestions it would be great...
and i started a penpencil drive for these kids there are around 100 of them...got around 60 up until now....

thats incredible..esp the meaning..we have a proper gruop meeting this thursaday..have put ur name on the short list...

capricon thank u so much for the motto..lots of ppl liked it and in all probability we might stick to it cuase it makes a lot of sense...

the other names ppl have come up with
horizon,
disha- direction
aasha-hope
udaan-flight
colors
smilestones
hazyechoes
umeed ( dont knw the translation)

but none of them struck me as particularly impacting..i dont want to hurry with a name cuase the name sums us all up...

anyway thanks a million ppl for all the suggestions....

Oooh, oooh, you should have a motto, something like, "I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future." Oooh, I just got an idea, that could be my signiture.

Oh, and I liked Celtic's name. Smile

well its not an after school program...
well to start with a remand home is a place where all sorts of kids come in, ranging from orapahns, drug addicts to kids who have criminal records against them..we also have single parents and poor parents puttin in the kids here...
as a group we are basically doing a lot of things only for this place cause i dont want to put my fingers into to many things..i just want to take one project up and give it my heart and soul..
i teach these kids english but then it was just me now its a more than 15 gurls and guys who are really entusiastic about what they are going to do.
and most of the times in the remand home the kids are sort of educated upto theier 10th grades but not after..so we want to save up nuff money to atleast educate 2 kids who are really bright and promising..its sort of unfair for the others but as students there is little else we can do for them..
i want YN to give a just one click for this thing so that we can even give schlarships on behalf of YN..and trust me it will change thier lives around completely....
and YV is u want to knw more mail me..there are a lot of interesting kids and interesting stories.....

So this is an after school program of some sort that you guys came up with? Interesting. But what is the main purpose of this "organization?" Is it to teach, or raise funds for different groups, give scholarships? All of them?
