I close my eyes and focus on the air around me. I summon the magic and try to bend the wind to my will. I might have had better luck bending a brick wall. I open my eyes and shake my head. Wink smiles encouragingly at me.
Wink: Don't worry. It takes practice. Just keep trying.

I close my eyes and try again.

Wink: "Oh, just make a small whirlwind. It's as simple as the water was. Just feel the air around you & pull the energy & magic from it & bend it to your will. Now go ahead & try."

Wink: Alright. So you've proven you know what you're doing with water. Now lets see what you can do with air.
Liz: What should I do?

Wink and Liz are getting along well, so neither bothered to go argue with Alex over staying, both assuming they would just be sitting at some bar anyways.

OC: yay!! I've been wanting to get some practice with Aya, since I was trying to write a story with her....


IC: Among the army of Angels, an angel with pointed ears and her mother's armor begins mowing down much of the demon army. Vix and Kwai stop for a second, when they see that Aya is back on Earth, if only for this battle. They are also impresed by the skill she has gained, both in magic and combat.

OC: Now to get back on track.

Alex: "I need to go do some thinking. You two girls stay here & keep working, I'm going to go find Zeig & Kunga."

OC: Crap lets. How do you come up with this stuff?

IC: Liz concentrates on the pond, trying to remember everything Wink just told her. Suddenly water roes out of the pond and traveled across the feild to where Alex was. Liz let go and the water dropped on Alex's head. Alex jumped up with a start, and turened to face them.
Alex: Wink that better have been an accident.
Wink: It wasn't me.
Alex: Shure. You want me to beleive that Liz managed to do that, something that would take years of practic, on her first try?
Wink: She did
Alex stares at Liz disbelieving.

Wink: "Mana? It's really simple once you get to know where it comes from."
Liz: "Um...thats just it, I dunno where it comes from."
Wink: "Hmmm. Well, lets start at square one then. Look around you, everything that you see has a magic property surounding it that is based upon the six elements. The elements are: fire, water, earth, air, light, & darkness. Manipulation of these elements allows you to cast spells."
Liz: "Ok, but how do you manipulate them?"
Wink: "You have to feel them. Different creatures, environments, & articles inherently possess one or more of these elements. You need to recognize the element you wish to use, draw that power into yourself, & then convert it into a spell using a chant or a powerful psychic message. I could talk & talk all day about the physics of it all, but you'll never learn anything unless you practice. Try what you've just learned on that pond over there. Don't worry, just relax & you'll get it easily. Besides, you've already done it before when you've summoned those light spheres."
Liz: "Ok. I'll give it my best shot."
Wink: "That a girl!"

Liz: Apparently I haven't known him nearly as long as you have.
Wink: No, probably not.

Verka, Zazama & the rest of the demon army charged at the castle full force. Just then, the heavens opened up & an army of angels appeared in a flash of light & began fighting the demon army. Morgaine & the priestesses begin casting a defensive spell that covers the castle in an invisible shield. As Vix & Kwai look on, Kwai can tell that Vix is getting impatient.
Vix: "I can't take it anymore!"
Vix flip-jumps down to where the battle is taking place & begins mowing down the demon army. Kwai shakes his head & joins her down below. Verka & Zazama see the two newcomers & decide to engage them, while the rest of the demon army fights with the angels.

Big Ben: "Hmmm. So that's what's been goin' on with ya."
Zeig: "No joke, I'd bet my life on it all, 'cept I don't have one anymore, savvy?" Ben: "Aye. *looks at Kunga who is chugging from a mug much larger than himself* Damn lil fella! Ya sure can drink for a rag-doll."
Kunga: "Booga booga, booga booga, *continues to drink until the mug falls upside over him & he is trapped inside* booga."
Ben laughs so hard at this that he has to wipe his large brow with his apron afterwards.
Zeig: "So anyways mate, how do ye like the sound of yer big & burly arse rejoinin' the crew? We are short handed & I would'n mind havin' my chief cook back."
Ben: *rubs his big chin in a thoughtful manner* "Hmmm. It has been quite some time since I did my fair share of pirate'n, & I could use a vacation from all these damned modern English. Cap'n Zeig, I accept! When do we shove off?"
Zeig: "In three days."
Ben: "Then we have plenty of time to drink in preparation!"

Alex can tell that things are very uncomfortable & decides to enlighten the two girls.
Alex: "Liz, this is Wink. She was my last apprentice. Under my training she became so adept at magic that she decided to leave me & head off on her own journey. She actually became better at using mana & chakra than I did. Wink, this is Liz. She is my new apprentice. So far she has had little training but her natural ability is astonishing. So far she is very good at summoning spheres. Alright? Good. I'm going to leave you two ladies here to get to know eachother better while I go & take a breather."
Alex leaves the two girls.
Wink: "So, how long have you known Alex?"

After a long period of mental training (this includes chanting, meditating, & praying), Shawn & Gray Lizard are sitting down drinking some water.
Gray Lizard: "You've done enough mental training, now its time for the physical."
Shawn: "Just point me in a direction wise one."
Gray Lizard: "Tomorrow morning you will enter a cave about three miles from here. There you will encounter every obstacle that the spirits feel that you must, & you'll do it without transforming."
Shawn: "Fine. How long will I be in there?"
Gray Lizard: "That all depends on you, but it's usually a journey of a few weeks."
Shawn: "Alright then. When do I start?"
Gray Lizard: "Dawn as usual."
Shawn: "I'll be ready. I just need to get some sllep right now."
Gray Lizard: "You go ahead & rest then. Oh, & Shawn, since you're barefoot be careful, there are rattlesnakes everywhere tonight."
