This topic may have been brought up before in another thread, or maybe a few and I do apologize if I am just adding to the redundancy, but I am truly at a loss. Reading through the message boards, whether the subject be about religion, government, or relationsips, they all end up with some argument leading into a feud between a group of members, condemning each other for what they believe, or shoving their own beleifs in thr faces of others as if they are better. Every one is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs. Youth Noise is here as a way for the youth to get involved, and no matter how cliche it may sound, make the world a better place; one that we are happy living in, one that we can have a hand in forming. It isn't here as a battle of opinions or wits. I think its time that we all, including myself, start thinking more about others and being productive rather than back-biting and having the last say. To those of you who are here for the reason Youth Noise was created, I thank you, and for those who aren't, take a look around. Do you see things you don't like? Do you every say to yourself "If I could do something about that I would" ? Well this is the place to start doing it... is there any reason not to?

No one hates her. Some dislike her with a violent, bone-breaking passion, but that is never hate. To hate is to desire to kill.

Hey, I don't hate Jamaica. I just think it is hard to respectfully disagree with her because she is so stubborn about her beliefs. That's not necessarily a bad thing, in fact, I admire her for it.

Although i don't particularly love jamaica, i dissagree with you on that one.

Not everyone hates her. Don't just try to follow the crowd. Believe me, it doesn't work.

thankyou... and I repectfully have to disagree with Jamaica. You seem to me, to be in no way immature.

And I wasn't telling anyone how to act. I was merely asking a question, trying to understand something. If anyone took it as me telling them how to act, I do apologize, again. People are free to act the way they want, I am just wondering if there isn't always a better way to execute what point it is that is trying to be made

Amez- I would get a few more posts in before you try to tell people how we should act and change. Because until then, we're just going to argue, *****, bash, hate and more than anything, ignore you.

Amez has a point. But why disregard his apparently informed opinion simply because he has very few posts? Why does post number come into play here? One could be like taste and post many meaningless posts, or one could be like any number of other people who have posted a few very insightful posts. I agree that fighting is no way to prove your point. Take jamaica, for instance. She resorts to insults when someone has a different opinion than her. That just turns the other person away. I know this from experience. I tried to keep an open mind about her opinion, but she just brushed me off as "an immoral, immature 16 year old". Did that get anywhere? Of course not. We just argued back and forth about totally off-topic things, which is not the point of YN. We're here to make noise, not enemies.

Jamaica tells us how we need to act. Well, maybe not to you, but she does to me sometimes. (We just got over a big arguement about it and a few other things.)

Yes, she is a pain (on YN) sometimes, but no, I will not get used to it. Smile

Why should we have to change when we can use this site to argue and express our opinions and beliefs? If YN didn't want us to argue, *****, bash, moan, and groan at people than why in God's green earth does it give us the opportunity to have an opinion, tell it to the world, and stand up for it?

Amez has a point...but as a former teenager I can testify to the fact that all I wanted to do was play sports, watch tv, or play videogames, and helping the community through mandatory church youth group projects seemed hellish. But hey, I did my community service, I stayed after school mentoring a group of kids at a homework help kind of place. The key is to find things that are semi-enjoyable as well as helpful to the community.

When you all come down on someone this hard for making a well-intentioned (albeit naive) attempt to make YouthNOISE a better place by eliminating irrational hostility, you just prove her point. Obviously, there will always be hostility, because some people are just hostile jerks while others practically beg for someone to put them in their place. Plus, being truly witty often involves putting others down. Still, that's no excuse to lash out at people for no reason, as is being done in this thread.
On that note:
