I'm not a bad girl. I mean, I respect my parents, my curfews, and I understand that my parents set rules for a reason. Except for one. The ability to date. I'm 15 years old, and there are plenty of guys who've showed interest in me and I've had to turn down because of my Mom's rule, no dating until your sixteen. She was in an abusive relationship when she was 14 and that's her reason for holding me back. I don't know why I can't learn from my experiences instead of hers. We are two different people. I want to live my life my way, not hers.

I will not be allowed to date until I'm married. LoL. J/K, but thats what it seems like...I will probably not be allowed to date until I am at least moved out at college, and then i wanna go to a really hard college so i will be constantly studying. AAHHH. But I am not allowed to date until I am at LEAST 16. probably 18.

Lots of love,
Lynne

I had the same rule with my parents, but I figured out how to get past the dating issue by just telling my parents I was going to hang out with friends. I never lied because the girl was on a technicality my girl-friend. With my parents I stressed the friend part and I never did anything stupid and I got along just fine. big grin

I don't know, maybe you should consider yourself lucky. I'll be seventeen in a month and my parents still don't let me date. I'll probably have to wait till I move out. roll eyes

And by the way, chibiloki, I like your picture. big grin

I can understand your situation. Just try to have a calm and adult talk with her. Make it so she sees your point and that you understand hers. Tell her about the guys who've showen interest in you. Let her know that you'd like to life you life sooner rather than later! razz She'll probably know where you're coming from on the topic and let you date. It's worth a try smile (once again, don't ask about the picture ^^;)
