Listen up. All of the world leaders are stuck in seeing there small way of life. -They feel that peace comes by war. -The human body should be covered up. -Their way is right, and anything else is wrong.
If we speak up against them, we are called disrespectful and pushed aside. Our government is made so young people have no part in it. By the time we grow old enough to have a say, they have molded us into their way.
I think that us young people should be able to have the same amount of respect as the adults. We must speak up when we are young. Before our youth is taken away.
We need a voice. One that the adults cant ignore.

Government is an institution where without a fat checkbook it is diffucult to have your voice heard. However, I still think it is possible to have your voice heard even if you aren't old and rich. There's no problem with speaking out at all, it's just the words and manner in which it is said that may anger politicians. Many men (and women) risked their lives so we could question the actions of the people who govern - and more importantly - represent us. You have to pull the right words out of your mouth and without being disrespectful keep throwing what youre fighting for at them! Just keep on fighting for what you believe...don't let them stop you! That is what our country was founded for...and to those who fought for freedom: a profound thank you for your sacrifices.

That rotten generation divide has been on my mind all my life, and I've always wanted to find some way to have a real say in government for the teens...not just sending some letters that will be disregarded as complaints. I want some leader out there to step up and recognize that we "kids" are also "human citizens," despite our age. Too many times, teenagers are disregarded as those that are inexperienced in life. Their discreet word for saying this is the typical label of the "adolescent." I really hope that one day teenagers will be able to reasonably take a stand to the government on things that affect them in everyday life, and be able to voice out their concerns on ways to improve these things of matter.

OK i will admit that we have little voice but it's not that bad. You should see what teens are wearing in CT!!! lol...but we are looked on as useless mindless and all the adults think most of all that we cannot work together! I want to prove them wrong! WE can work together! I truly believe we are a great generation and that if we try and show what we believe in together things can change and get better. We are more understanding of sexual freedom and other back grounds and places and diffences in the human race. WE can make the world better. We just have to learn to take action in my belief. Who will?

I said that in response to "2. Huh? Our bodies do need to be covered up.", after interpreting that as her saying that the human body is some obscene thing that needs to be covered up at all times. If she said that in reference to the necessity of clothing in certain climates, then I agree with her.

Uh, to keep warm? I'm a little confused as to the relevance of this point to the state of the world… Things would be better if everyone was naked? I think we'd be just as messed up, only colder. I agree with Sinope (welcome back, by the way!) and Amaris. … Um, everyone else seems to have made the points I would have made! Carry on folks… Bex

1. you would be suprized. some say false, others say true. But it has worked before believe it oor not, and other times it has not. 2. ya, it does (but some skin is ok , just not overly conservative) 3. It's all where you stand with politics. It's opinion. But for some politicians, ya for them it works that way, luckly those people don't last very long. alienpuppyhog, you only become molded if you let yourself become that way and not keep your opinions. Just stay sceptical, not necessarily disagree, and you should be fine.

Yeah I have to say I agree with Amaris as well. Maybe if the high profile "young people" had something worthwhile to say instead of cursing and whining all the time, the adults of this country would believe that we have some good ideas. I do think the government needs to be more geared towards the youth of the United States, after all, we are the future. Times are changing....they need to pick up the pace. Until they do however, we can take solace in the fact that we will eventually have a say, when we reach a certain age.

i agree! we have no say whatsover in our government and if we act on our beliefs, some of which are against them, we are disrespectful...it's so stupid

i come from a small texas school, im a kid that doesnt break the rules that much but i want to stand out. me and my friends are constantly sticking up for the other kids that get picked on in our highschool, as teens we know that not everyone will get along, but why make trouble when you can avoid it and accept those for who they are? i know not everyone likes the same things adn that if we worked out our differences we could all be friends...but still teh war goes on.. what do yall think??

firstly, i agree with amaris. take from that what you will.
secondly, people in power don't have to listen to anyone. young or old. even when they front like they do, they don't have to.
third. i don't trust most politicians because to get into government you must have one of two things, or both. money or power (the two most easily corruptable commodities the world offers). if you have niether, than your stuck with the rest of us blind sheep. endentured servents here only to grease the gears of the machine.
there are excellent and noble politicians in this world, don't get me wrong. i just think the populace is to ignorant to know the difference. also we just don't "award" them like they deserve or give enough incentive to actually do good things for our communities.

You are so right. If an adult complains something gets done about it, if a juvenille-sorry I hate to use kid or child-complains we get a pat on the head and an "aw how cute you have an opinion". Sorry to be so harsh, but it really makes me mad. Just because we don't have as much experience doesn't mean we can't see what's happening with our government.

Maybe if we, as a whole generation, proved to adults that we have opinions that have more depth than whether Britney Spears or Eminem is worse, then they wouldn't ignore us.
