Since I don't want that thread dug up, I'll put the highlights here. quote: Originally posted by CrzyMe19 Others just know when you're no longer a newbie. There are no exact qualifications. There are understood guidelines, but that's about it.
You are no longer a newbie when: - You use proper grammar, unless you have a very good excuse that the veterans have generally accepted (i.e. your primary language isn't english) - You have been here atleast 3 months, maybe more. - You think before you type - You don't worry about being chewed out by veterans for the posts you make, or else you know in advance that you'll be chewed out for posts you make. - You have a semi-high post number. There is no exact number when you're no longer a newbie.
quote: Rootofevil to be a veteren you must be widely known and decently respected. to be ancient you must be known by everyone, well respected and been posting for a really long time(hard to say how long).
you stop being a noobie when you are respected. when you leave ,and when you come back you're missed. when you post and someone complements you on it (other than just another noob). when you gain respect from some of the non-noobs, veterens, and ancients. i don't have that many posts but i know i'm not a noob. and in my opinion i'm close to becoming a veteran. but it's hard to say. also, there are exceptons where you don't accually need to be respected but remambered and then you're not a noob but "that one idiot"
quote: Uptown Newbies aren't always new, it's just a word we use for stupid.
quote: ICE A newbie denewbizes when they start becoming cool, showing intelligence, and growing in both postnumber and length of time since being registered on yn. Someone has to have been here a year and a half to be called a veteran.

I had started a thread about what denewbitizes someone. There's more information on that one. And a bunch of newbies don't consider themselves newbies so they post on here. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

I don't see a rule about how old of a YN member you are when you aren't a newbie and when you become a veteran. Or is it more the number of posts? What are the requirements? ARe there any we should set down? Although I think I'm no longer a newbie, especially since there are members that were posting rules with less than 50 posts and haaving only been here for about a month, I think this should all be answered by some definite veterans of YN.

quote: it's childish, every time someone says something about Joeydaubin and paintbucket you look like a fool
I laugh at JoeyDauben and Paintbucket. They want attention, and they get it. The majority of veterans on this site don't waste their energy bagging on either of the two. quote: Then you have repeat boards... I couldn't find a certain board I was looking for so I started a new one... of all things it was only a request for some IM handles, and I was immediatly hollered at by ***** bella down there for starting a repeat board, not like I started another gay marriage or abortion board.
Repeat threads are annoying. Try searching for the topic of the thread you want to make before you create it. You may make a mistake, and you may get yelled at for it (or else your thread will just be turned into one about cheese...or pie), but get over it. Try not to do it again. Life goes on. Also, Bella is most definitely not a veteran. She's still borderline newbie. What she says does not apply to your protest against veterans.

And you seem to do nothing but fight with Bella. Just stop it.

Hydrok, just as a friendly reminder here are your problem(s): you complain consistently if nothing is going your way you try to bash others while when they bash you, you complain, probably report them, and whine you're idea of a debate is personally attacking someone with a sprinking of curse words. not that i have a problem with curse words... you try to make the subject of attack to someone else when we're merely telling you to search for a thread before you post a new one i'll add to my list later. anyone else, feel free to add with it also. caio.

And "snaps" to you for being a scuzzy ***** It's so ****ing obvious to me that you dont care what I have to say, you just pick out the parts that you think you can attack me with while completely ignoring every valid point I have... but thats ok, I wouldn't expect you to admit that your wrong.
