Have you ever seen a spacecraft launch? I did last week.

I saw one on TV.
And I would never feel pain / and never be without pleasure, ever, again / and if the reign stops, and everything's dry, he would cry just so I could drink the tears from his eyes...

When I was a wee ten-year-old, I got to see the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn go up in Cape Canaveral. My dad has spent most of my lifetime as one of the research scientists working on the Huygens probe. It was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A bunch of plutonium was required for the launch, and the more paranoid Floridians were terrified of an accident. The controversy even ended up on 60 Minutes. It didn't launch on its scheduled date due to poor weather conditions, so everyone had to get up in the middle of the night and wait for it to go up a second time. Over seven years later, it arrived.
And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

I was on a boat with my dad when I saw it take off. There was a lot of smoke from it that stayed in the same position and didn't seem to move after it came from the spacecraft. They sent a teacher to space on it.

No I haven't, but it would be so cool to see.
It must be lovely to wake up in the morning and understand everything.

I've watched shuttles take off on TV. I also took a carpet cleaning appointment for an astronaut; he has a summer home in Michigan. I was so impressed...
