I know there's probobly some other area where I should post this, but I don't want to. My friend just admitted to me that she's lesbian, and didn't want to tell me because she thought I wouldn't be her friend anymore. This is sorta true, I mean, it does change my opinion about her, but she's really messed up right now, and I don't want to just abandon her. What can I tell her? Her dad is homo-phobic, and she's scared. Help plz?

There are as many support groups in Arkansas as brain cells her dad had left the last time he drank. You do the math....

Arkansas...OK, maybe there aren't many support groups in your area.

Ohio- It depends how homophobic he is. Some parents will kick their child out if they're gay. There are support groups and hotlines that could help, I don't know if there's anything in your area, but if you search around on the internet you might be able to find something. And yeah, you definitely shouldn't ditch her.

There are obviously many reasons that lead you to be her friend. A good friend supports them no matter what. You should talk to her about it and try your best to support or atleast try not to be negative. Her dad may be homophobe but he is her father and as well should love her no matter what. Maybe she should talk to him about it. He may be disappointed but I bet that he wont shun her.

Just don't tell her dad. I haven't told my parents that I am gay yet.

I'm not going to abandon her, but what can she tell her dad? It's hard, and she wants my advice. I don't know what to say.
