I live in a town right by Barcelona. Touristy town, pretty nice, but I'm bored as hell with it(I've lived here for 13 years, I want to go to the US to live already!).
Saturday nights here consist in going to bars or to the beach and getting drunk as hell(as well as stoned if you smoke, not everyone does, don't get the wrong impression!) and then going to this street that is full of bars where people go dancing or to discos. The age to go to bars and to drink and all is 18 but usually, notice the usually, you can get around it, depends on how you look I guess.
The Spanish Educational System is complete crap, I don't care what they say but it is. It's supposed to have a higher level than the US but in reality it's not. Well ok I'll be fair, the places I've studied are crap. Maybe in the rest of Spain it's better but I'll talk about what I know wich is here. All they care about here is exams exams exams, teachers give you NO motivation and tend to not care much about their students. The only reason going to school is tolerable is because all your friends are there, because the classes and all are crap. They do not even try to make classes interesting in any way.
What else can I say, I live on the coast so in the summer the town is packed and we usually spend the day at the beach.
Usually you hear that people are pretty liberal here(90% of Spain was against the Iraq war, we've got a left center president, etc) but you don't really notice it in the young people. I guess it's like everywhere. The people my age that I know in my town aren't that into politics and all that, they're more interested in having fun, but I guess that's what it's usually like with young people, or that's what they show.
Hmm...what else can I say...I don't know, ask me questions if you like and I'll answer the best I can.
