I've been clicking every day now since mid-spring yet it only credits me with 28 clicks. Why? Is it based on the number during this specific competition, or is it screwed up?

Not sure what you're talking about but generally, if you disable cookies, you can click some things as many times as you want. If you disable the referrers too, you can usually click something, go back, click again, etc. Works great for per-click charity events.
