I'm going go with, of course, being yourself is the best way to be, but i can also understand how you might want to be someone else. just got to find the right group of friends that love you for who you are, not the clothes you wear, or the music you're into. i used to have friends like that, so i tried to hard to please them, but now i hang out with people that just want me to be myself and i expect the same from them. sure, we're a bunch of weirdos, but we accept each other for it,so its tons o fun.

Well what if by being yourself, you're being fake? What happens then? Are you fake or are you being yourself?

I'm goin' with the third answer, you have to be yourself and all, but also sometimes you have to act how people expect you to, by being polite and respectful and stuff like that.

I guess I try to be myself, except I'm not even sure who I really am. I don't fit into some little box labeled Candybuster because every day I might be somebody different, because I know more than I did before, and sometimes I'll even make different decisions than I did the day before.

Plus, there are some parts of me I don't want my friends to see, and sometimes I don't say what I would say to my friends when I'm with my family. Every time you see someone, without knowing it, you figure out what you should say to them to get the reaction you want, and what thoughts you have that you should keep to yourself. I don't even think I'm aware of it. So, when someone tells me to be myself, I could just say, "Who else would I be?"

I'm the kind of person who refuses to be something I'm not. The way I see it, if someone doesn't like me because I'm opinionated or because of the way I dress then I don't need them around me. I will not compramise (I prolly spelled that wrong lol) who I am or what I believe to appease other people. Life is much too short to live as someone else. Just be who you are and then you'll know that the people who love you love you for you (there's a lot of you's in that huh?).

No one can be themselves all of the time. If I have said everything I have every wanted to (and these thoughts are myself so theoretically I should express them)I would have offended a large amount stupid people.

I have to be fake people just wouldn't except the real me not that they've excepted the fake me either!LOL!

I think that, sometimes, you need to be a fake. People just don't understand, sometimes. And you know what? That's ok. But what if you don't want everyone you meet to know exactly who you are? What if you don't want to put everything that is you on display 24/7? Its your choice, and sometimes you have to lean one way or the other.

I agree you can't tell someone to be themselves you have to let them do that all on their own. I am an EXTREME individual You know the person running down the hall singing jingle bells all year long wearing clothes made in 1960's or some thing from hot topic the one that always has an opinion about everything and is absolutely not afraid to share it i am my own person 100%ly!!! I believe everyone should be that way, but if being yourself makes you miserable then be some one else just make sure that you are happy with what you do!!!!!

I think Everyone should be yourself. I act like myself in front of everyone, i dont even care what others say about me!

I argree with u, all my friends are so fake to me, and it annoys me so much. I think people should just be thereselfes, they old be a better friend
