It doesn't go by post count. You obviously claim to remember something while knowing very little about it. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

I remember a couple saying it's Gem! Yogore, when will you learn? Don't make assumptions! I didn't mean it like that, though it may sound.

There was a thread on it. I will quote from it because I don't want anyone to see it... According to Crzy: quote: You are no longer a newbie when: - You use proper grammar, unless you have a very good excuse that the veterans have generally accepted (i.e. your primary language isn't english) - You have been here atleast 3 months, maybe more. - You think before you type - You don't worry about being chewed out by veterans for the posts you make, or else you know in advance that you'll be chewed out for posts you make. - You have a semi-high post number. There is no exact number when you're no longer a newbie.
Ice: quote: A newbie denewbizes when they start becoming cool, showing intelligence, and growing in both postnumber and length of time since being registered on yn. Jazzeykitten denewbized very quickly, for example.
Someone has to have been here a year and a half to be called a veteran.
And recently an accepted term has been being a regular at YN chats. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

quote: "Vet" status doesn't come from a registration date.
Just wondering but what exactly does qualify someone as a "vet"?

You're welcome, I think. Oh, yum! I love it! Smells fantastic. .

Thanks for clearing that up crzy, I am male and not important enough to be a vet. *Hands crzy a candle* Pineapple scented, hope you like it.

*Hands Jenos some tissue* There, there. quote: I'm kinda tired of vets complaining about repeat threads all the time when the old threads are dead....and you get mad if someone revives a dead thread! It's near impossible to come up with new topics (though JoeyDauben constantly does) and some newer people like to know things like the origin of usernames. Since I've been on here (and it's been, what, like six or seven months), this is the first one I've seen.
As Yogore has already said, we don't always get mad if someone revives an old thread. It depends on the situation. Some are able to be revived. Some, it's just annoying. It's up to the person to use their judgement, or take the chance that some might get "mad" at them. *Gasp*. Also, there was a thread like this a couple months ago. You just aren't on often enough to have seen it. quote: I consider someone like Jenos or Sunset or crzyme a vet. And the fact that Jenos started this is why I don't understand why so many people are getting on to her for "repeat posting" or whatever.
Jenos, who is a male by the way, has been registered a long time, but has just recently come back from a long absence of YN. "Vet" status doesn't come from a registration date.

My username represents what I hope to achieve in life, and though i realize its pretty unlikely to be really peaceful, I wish to try to be at peace with myself and to help my friends to achieve the same, or people that post here also.

Repeat threads are bound to occur since the search feature hasn't been working properly.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

That's fine Yogore, I know exactly what you mean though. If I had seen a thread like this when I went to look for it in the dead threads, I wouldn't have started a repeat. Sorry about it all though.

I'm not mad at your Jenos. I was making a blanket statement about repeat threads. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore
